This 3-Piece Outfit Is Always Stylish—Every New York Fashion Person I Know Wears It

Similarly to how I felt about flip-flops, I was a capri skeptic for years—until I decided to just try a pair one day last spring. Very quickly, they became one of my most-worn items. I found myself reaching for them for errands and long walks when I wanted something that looked polished but still had stretch and movement. They're comfortable and easy and somehow still feel put-together.
If you're shopping for a pair for the first time, here's what I've found: If you're shorter, tighter capris that hit right below the knee tend to look best. If you're taller, look for a pair that flares slightly and hits lower on the calf.
As I thought of ways to style them, I kept coming back to two other spring staples, trench coats and kitten-heel sandals. It's a simple yet chic outfit formula that always works. I've been wearing mine with the Rue Sophie Provenance Jacket and Stuart Weitzman Minimalist 50 Sandals or the Studio Amelia Greta Mules.
