Not Mini, Not Maxi: This Is the Skirt Length Everyone Will Be Wearing This Spring

Up until around spring 2025, I was a loyal miniskirt wearer. Then I started wearing midi and maxi lengths, which felt better suited to being out and about in NYC in warm weather, where you’re going from long walks to sitting out in the park to the train or a restaurant with AC. In these situations, a fully bare leg just felt less practical.
Then, this past fall, I started gravitating toward something in between: knee-length skirts. And while I’ll always have a time and place to wear skirts of all lengths, this is the one I’m eyeing more of for spring 2026.
I already have the Reformation Layla Knee Length Skirt and a Cou Cou slip skirt, both of which I love. At the top of my wish list are the Paloma Skirt by Guizio, the ’90s Bias Mini Skirt from Charlie Beads, and the Straight Skirt from Home of Hai and Brooke Callahan’s capsule collection.
