I'm a Gen Z Fashion Editor—8 Cool Brands I Look For When Shopping at Nordstrom
Whether you're a true Gen Zer like me, on the cusp (hello, my zillennials), or a millennial, we can all agree that my generation's love for fashion is undeniable. Understanding where Gen Z is shopping proves more difficult; the generation that prides itself on being underground is prone to gatekeeping. I'm here to invite you behind the scenes to see where fashionable Gen Zers shop in 2026. Spoiler: The Nordstrom Space Emerging and Advanced Designers collection is a prime place to start.
I asked my fellow Gen Z Who What Wear editors which Nordstrom brands they follow. As I suspected, they did not disappoint. Taking to heart their editor-approved recommendations and my Nordstrom go-tos, I've put together a list of eight Gen Z–loved brands that deserve a spot in your shopping cart.
Don't be surprised if you see editor-favorite brands like Paloma Wool and Sandy Liang. Keep an eye out for emerging designers like Tanner Fletcher and Justine Clenquet, who are redefining Gen Z style. You'll find 2026 Gen Z trends like slouchy silhouettes, lots and lots of layers, and subversive basics; surprising shoe trends (hint: "weird" shoes are back); playful prints; and a progression toward fashion without gender labels. If you're looking to broaden your horizons, come with me as I shop brands from across the globe. We'll stop in Paris and Copenhagen, visit the Mediterranean in Mallorca, and get lost in NYC. Ahead, meet the eight editor-approved Nordstrom brands I look for as a Gen Z fashion person.
8 Gen Z Editor–Approved Brands at Nordstrom in 2026
Paloma Wool
"Not to be that girl, but I’ve been a Paloma Wool customer since 2018, and even though my personal style has changed many times over the years, Paloma Wool has grown up with me. I love its unique spin on simple silhouettes that have continued to be anchors in my closet." — Daniela Guevara, associate social media editor
Sandy Liang
"I stumbled across the Space section at Nordstrom years ago, and it's become one of my go-to places to shop for emerging designers since it feels more like shopping at a concept store. I can't get over how good the Sandy Liang selection is! I'm currently eyeing the Pilton Rosette A-Line Midi Dress, Chupa Long Sleeve Polo Sweater Dress, and Polar Fleece Miniskirt." — Audry Hiaoui, associate shopping editor
Justine Clenquet
Meet the Gen Z–coded French brand that specializes in subversive accessories. Justine Clenquet is what every cool Gen Zer wants to find in their jewelry box. Think two-tone metallics, punk motifs, and a unisex approach.
As seen on I Love LA, slung over the shoulder of Maia Simsbury, played by the show's creator, Rachel Sennott, the French brand is a favorite among popular celebs like Charlie XCX, Rosalía, and Dua Lipa. IYKYK, Justine Clenquet is the secret to looking like you're part of the "in" crowd.
Lié Studio
Started by twin sisters Amalie and Cecilie Moosgaard, Lié Studio sits on the sophisticated side of Gen Z style. Based in Copenhagen, the brand captures the Scandi aesthetic beautifully—the clean lines, attention to detail, and elevated stylings. It is timeless, versatile, and intentional, from the selection of materials to the quality of construction. Lié Studio is a supreme addition to any wardrobe and IMO is entirely worth the investment.
Tanner Fletcher
If you take anything from this list of Gen Z brands at Nordstrom, let it be the name Tanner Fletcher. It is a genderless brand based in New York that, in addition to designing thought-provoking ready-to-wear collections, also curates vintage homewear. Tanner Fletcher's designs push beyond the boundaries of what is masculine and feminine, presenting a fashion universe that exists without labels.
Tanner Fletcher's ready-to-wear S/S 26 collection features a number of delicate prints and patterns, from Dorothy-like ginghams to curtain-inspired florals; flirty lace-trimmings and romantic ruffles; oversize bows and sweet vintage silhouettes. The emerging designer has been spotted and styled on A-list celebs, from Ariana Grande at the NBC Wicked special this past year to Bad Bunny for Time magazine in 2023. I can't tell you how excited I get when I spot a new Tanner Fletcher at Nordstrom. But before I can get my hands on the S/S 26 collection, I'm browsing what's in stock rn.
Loulou de Saison
Another standout find from Nordstrom's Space designers, Loulou de Saison was founded in Paris by Chloé Harrouche. The brand's excellent storytelling and elegant designs feature a minimal color palette, a love for natural materials, and refined craftsmanship.
Camper
Headquartered in Mallorca, Spain, this European shoe brand capitalizes on Gen Z's love for the "weird." Camper is a prominent member of the "ugly" shoe trend that has dominated among Gen Z fashion influencers. From the Kobarah Sandals to the Right Nina Ballet Flats, Camper is a master class in cool footwear.
Damson Madder
"Speaking on Gen Z brands without bringing up Damson Madder feels like a crime. Over the last few years, the brand has absolutely exploded in popularity among the sub-27 crowd, with fans flocking to the brand thanks to its fun elements (ruffles! prints! textures!) and playful takes on basics." — Ana Escalante, associate features editor

Josephine Hadjiloucas is a New York–based writer. She first interned at Who What Wear UK in 2024 and later joined Who What Wear U.S. as an assistant shopping editor after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2025. When she isn’t covering the latest Gen Z trends or updating her under-$100 Nordstrom wish list, you can find her browsing the racks of NYC’s best vintage stores or rewatching Moonstruck for the 50th time. “Snap out of it!”
