While I think that there's absolutely nothing wrong with wearing black during the spring and summer, many of us have been wearing black for months on end and are ready for a change—a just as versatile change, that is. The runways for the past several seasons have declared over and over again that navy is back, and this has now become a mainstream fact.
The beauty of navy is that it's relevant year-round, and it works with every color black does (including black, actually), but it makes your outfits look a bit more interesting than black does, due to its unexpectedness.
