I Spent Hours Trying On Cashmere Jumpers at Every Price Point—Only These 5 Made the Cut
Cashmere is a winter staple, but which are the best cashmere jumpers? I've tried and tested loads to find the 5 very best.
Now that winter has arrived, it's officially time to layer up. The crisp breeze marks the arrival of the new season, and whilst many are digging out coats and pairing up gloves, I've turned to my favourite part of winter dressing: knitwear. In fact, it's more specific than that. Every year I depend on a selection of cashmere knits to see me through the coldest months, and now I'm bringing my shopping editor expertise to celebrate the best cashmere jumpers for 2026.
Every time the temperatures drop, I find myself reaching for my cashmere staples. For a casual coffee stroll, I'll throw on an oversized cashmere jumper, leggings and knee-high boots, whilst smarter trips to the office call for tailored trousers and a fitted V-neck style. When I want to exude elegance with maximum comfort, I play on the contrast of a brushed cashmere jumper with satin trousers, and this look evokes compliments every single time. Then there's the cashmere cardigan that sits in my bag or around my shoulders, ready to be that extra layer of warmth when needed. Truthfully, everything from suede skirts to relaxed denim feels instantly more refined when a soft cashmere knit is in tow.
As an innately luxurious fabric, it can be easy to believe that you have to invest in designer brands to make the most of the refined thread, but I've found five standout styles for all kinds of budgets, all tried and tested just for you. Yes, there are brands that are dedicated to refined cashmere wares, like Soft Goat, a name that fashion people turn to when they want to invest in cashmere. Alongside, you'll find the return of COS's best-selling cashmere jumper, a staple in so many great wardrobes across the globe, as well as an under-£50 style that almost all my fellow editors have in their winter rotations. Now, I've tried on so many cashmere knits and narrowed down my selection to these five very best cashmere jumpers for 2026.
My Review of the Best Cashmere Jumpers
1. COS Rounded Pure Cashmere Crew-Neck Jumper
My Review: If you take a peek into my fellow editor's wardrobes, you're likely to find this COS cashmere jumper. This exact style has been a best-seller for years and comes back every year as a staple style for the brand.
The sculptural shape of COS's knitwear has firmly cemented itself as a favourite amongst fashion people everywhere. A relaxed silhouette adds a contemporary feel, with a thick ribbed neckline and ribbed cuffs and hem. The drop shoulders add to the laid-back feel of the knit, but the slightly cropped hemline for the drape of the knit ensures it looks intentional. This jumper is a heavy-weight style, the exact cosy piece you'll reach for on the coolest days, layered over thin long-sleeve tops or even a simple T-shirt. I got my hands on the size L, but would probably take my regular size S for this as it is naturally oversized.

Sizes: XS-XL
Composition: 100% Cashmere

2. Soft Goat Boyfriend Crewneck
My Review: This isn't my first time trying Soft Goat's cashmere pieces. One of my favourite cashmere pieces is a brushed cashmere crew neck from the brand, and after feeling the quality, weight and finish of the knit, I wanted to try the beloved boyfriend crewneck.
As soon as I put it on, I could feel the quality of the cashmere. It's incredibly soft, a mid-weight style that's exceedingly cosy without the bulk of other styles. The boxy fit was a standout to me, with a straight hemline and softened silhouette. Soft Goat knows that cashmere investments should hold their place in your wardrobe, so this style relies on classic detailing with a ribbed neckline, cuffs and hem. The silhouette ensures that the style feels modern, with an oversized silhouette to bring a touch of ease. This knit is more of an investment, but the 4-ply and 100% cashmere composition ensures that your investment is going into a high-quality piece that will earn its keep by how many times you wear it going forward. Here, I'm wearing the size small, which has the perfect amount of slouch for what I'm looking for.

3. Quince Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Jumper
My Review: Finally, Quince has launched in the UK! For a long time, I heard rave reviews from my colleagues across the pond about their go-to brand for timeless staples, and finally we can shop the best-selling styles. Naturally, I had to get my hands on the £50 cashmere jumper.
This signature knit is a lightweight style with a seriously soft finish, featuring delicate ribbing across the neckline, cuffs and hem. It's a regular fit style, so if you prefer an oversized silhouette, I'd recommend sizing up. The lightweight style is perfect for layering up this season, and I've been carrying this knit in my bag and around my shoulders just in case I need an extra infusion of warmth. It's hard to believe the price of the style, as the material is so soft. It's the kind of piece that you'll happily wear alongside bare skin, or layered on top of other basics. Now, I'm planning to snap up a few more to gift this Christmas. Here I'm wearing the size small.
Colour/s: Heather grey, Heather Charcoal, Ivory, Rich Burgundy, Faded Denim, Moss, Brown, True Navy, Heather Storm Blue, Black, Oatmeal, Varsity Red, Teak, Elk Brown.
Sizes: XS-XL
Composition: 100% A-Grade Mongolian Cashmere

4. Reformation Cove Cashmere Oversized Crew
My Review: My first introduction to the Reformation Cove jumper was last year, when suddenly every stylish person I came across had added it to their winter wardrobes. As soon as I saw it, I had to try it for myself, and I'll admit this knit comes directly from my personal wardrobe and has been a staple piece since I bought it.
For a while I'd been searching for that rare jumper that was the perfect amount of slouch without looking like a last-minute thought. Finally, I found the Cove, a supremely cosy style crafted from 95% recycled cashmere and 5% recycled wool, with the perfect amount of drape to the oversized shape. Ever since, this grey style has been my go-to when I want to cosy up, and the best part is that the style comes in so many different shades as well as seasonal stripes and patterns. A year on, it still looks brand new, and the soft composition is exactly what I seek out on the chilliest days. It's worth noting that this style does come up oversized, so here I am wearing the size XS.
Colour/s: Navy, Black, Compost, Husky, Wheat, Husky Fior Di Latte Stripe, Navy Neptune, Thunder Argyle, Dark Pine Stripe, Chianti, Parmesan Mahogany Stripe, Purple, Pear, Mushroom, Flannel Narcissus Stripe
Sizes: XS-XL
Composition: 95% recycled cashmere, 5% recycled wool

5. Uniqlo Cashmere Relaxed V Neck Jumper
My Review: Uniqlo is known for great basics. From trench coats to vest tops, fashion people consistently turn to Uniqlo to restock their basics, as well as a few standout pieces. For winter 2026, the cashmere jumper is definitely the It buy.
One part of winter dressing that I adore is the textures. Slinky satins, brushed cashmeres, and tough leather all return after the summer break to guide us back into the cold seasons, and at the top of my wish list was a tactile brushed cashmere jumper. Honestly, I had thought I'd need to fork out a fair amount for this, but Uniqlo had just launched its V-neck style. Now, I'm finding myself re-styling it every few days. The neckline itself is higher than previous V-neck styles, which I personally feel brings a modern edge to the style. The 100% cashmere composition is incredibly soft, even when brushing against the skin when wearing just a tank top underneath. It's mid-weight yet insulating thanks to the textured finish. Here I'm wearing the size M.
Colour/s: Yellow, Dark Grey, Black, Pink, Beige, Dark Brown
Sizes: XXS-XXL
Composition: 100% Cashmere
