18-Hour Dresses That Will Magically See You Through Spring, Summer, and Fall

But I have a Pinterest board filled to the brim with dream houses that I—one day soon—would like to own myself, so the saving officially starts now! This means that when it comes to pulling the trigger on fashion purchases, I’m opting for pieces that are wonderfully versatile and will last me through the seasons.

With spring just around the corner, the one item at the top of my wish list is unquestionably dresses. So I scoured high and low at some of my favorite retailers to find the chicest frocks that not only will get me through a long day—8 a.m. to 2 a.m. if need be!—but will also see me through the upcoming seasons with some clever layering, and of course, the right shoes, jackets, and accessories.

Not many dresses have the magical power to get you through 18 hours a day and multiple seasons, but these below come pretty darn close. From leather (a huge trend for spring, summer, and fall) to puff sleeves (to take you from day to night) and of-the-moment long, billowy maxi styles, take a peek below at the dresses that will soon become the hardest-working items in your closet.

Up next, this "daring" spring dress trend is a favorite in the celeb crowd.
