I've Fallen for These Elevated Basics From H&M, COS and Mango
Working in fashion is both a blessing and a curse. On the plus side, I get to sift through beautiful clothes every day and hunt down the very best buys. But as I'm sure you can imagine, this means that my wish list grows by the hour. It's more of a fantasy wish list at this point, because I know that in reality I'll barely make a dent in it.
This is why I'm always so keen to share my findings. Even if I can't have everything, someone out there can enjoy the fruits of my labour. And let's face it: if navigating those chocked-full new-in pages isn't a part of your job, the process can be a little overwhelming. With high-street brands in particular, there's (arguably) too much choice and it can take a frustratingly long time to land on what you're actually looking for.
If what you're looking for is cosy knitwear, wear-everyday dresses and/or elevated basics, then I've got you covered. I sifted through the new-in pages on H&M, Mango and COS' websites—because we can tell how much our readers love these affordable brands—and whittled down the most premium-looking pieces on offer.
From sumptuously soft jumpers to winter-proof outerwear, scroll down to discover 33 wardrobe heroes you can start wearing the moment they arrive.
1. COS
Despite the volume of fluffy knitwear out there this season, I still haven't found the perfect one—until now.
The kind of versatile skirt you'll find yourself turning to time and time again.
Style with black leather tall boots for a seriously chic look.
This is such an elevated take on the quarter zip—pair with jeans and loafers and you're set.
2. MANGO
With a few simple styling switches, you could easily take this dress from day to night.
3. H&M
Pinstripe trousers strike the perfect balance between polished and cool.
Style with pointed toe boots or sleek stilettos for a really elevated look.
