I Own 16 Little White Tops, But These Are the 3 Best
As soon as the calendar flips over to May, I'm itching to bust out all of my favorite summery white tops. There's something so perfect about a crisp white blouse paired with jeans or denim shorts—a truly fail-safe combo if you ask me. If you're looking to upgrade your own collection, I have a few suggestions I think you'll cherish as much as I do.
As much as I love a minimalist version, right now I'm gravitating toward white tops with interesting details. Staud's Luna Balloon-Sleeve Open-Back Cotton-Blend Top ($209), for instance, has a beautiful open back, balloon sleeves, and a peplum hemline that makes it an anything-but-boring option. H&M's Blouse With Eyelet Embroidery ($30) looks way more expensive than its wallet-friendly price tag. Below, I styled a similar top with jeans, Mary Jane flats, and an acetate bag, and I'll definitely be relying on that exact outfit for the rest of summer. Scroll down to shop my favorite white tops on the market right now.
The Even-Better-From-the-Back Blouse
This blouse has so many lovable details, from the balloon sleeves to the buttons on the back.
The Affordable Option
My exact top shown above is sold out, but this $30 one is a more-than-worthy option.
The Designer Splurge
Anna Mason is my new favorite brand for the dreamiest summer prints around.

Cecilie Bahnsen is one of my favorite Danish brands, and this top is high on my wish list right now.
By Any Other Name is a new line from beloved New York designer Rosie Assoulin, and this tunic is my top pick from the collection.
L.A. designer Christy Dawn may be known for her dresses, but she makes killer tops too.
Pixie Market always has impossibly cool versions of the biggest trends.
Goop's in-house brand knocked it out of the park with this perfectly oversize shirt.
Copy this styling idea, and wear this cute top with a matching white skirt.
Next, this will be the new It bag of summer 2019.
Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
