My 62-Year-Old Mom Sent Me Her Fall Shopping List—I Liked These Items
I've highlighted my mom's love of style on WWW before. For reference, she's a 62-year-old woman who has classic style and likes to invest in versatile pieces with just a hint of trendiness. While age has absolutely nothing to do with what you should or shouldn't wear, I am always intrigued by her selection given her more experienced sartorial point of view. On that note, she recently shared with me a range of fall items she's been seeing across her favorite sites (like J.Crew and Nordstrom) and wanted my thoughts.
There were actually eight pieces I personally liked because I thought they'd bring a modern feel to her wardrobe and were all highly wearable. Naturally, I'm sharing them with you below. I also rounded up a range of other fall picks I've been loving for further inspiration.
This sophisticated jacket topped her list. I told her it would look chic with relaxed trousers or jeans.
My mom wants to add a pair of light-wash denim to her rotation, as she likes wearing them with black knits. I loved these classic jeans by Levi's.
A modern striped sweater. My mom said she'd wear this one with leggings.
You just can't beat a throw-on-and-go dress. We both think a knit silhouette is fantastic for fall.
My mom has always loved loafers, and this heeled pair is quite intriguing to her.
While she lives in neutrals, she likes to play with color from time to time. This sweater is just gorgeous.
Fun fact: My mom loves Madewell and also loves cardigans, so I said yes to this roomy style.
