Fashion People Know What's Up, and They Think These Everyday Bags Are Quite Chic
I love handbags. And conveniently write about them often. So naturally, I'm always down to chat about the latest in bags. That brings me to why I'm here today. Given that spring is just about here, I decided to touch base with some of my favorite fashion follows and industry insiders to get their expert opinions on the specific bags they think are as chic as it gets for the season.
Many of the bags are investment pieces that have a strong cost per wear because they could be used on an everyday basis. I'm talking about everything from gorgeous structured silhouettes that make a statement to neutral picks that could basically go with any outfit. So if you enjoy scoping new handbags like me or simply want to add something fresh into your rotation, what's coming your way will be right up your alley. Keep scrolling to check out the bags style-setters love.
1. Coach Tabby Bag
"I love my original Tabby and Pillow Tabby so much, so when I saw that Coach was coming out with a relaxed version of its iconic bag, I knew that I would have to get my hands on it! And this colorway is perfect." — Seyi Famuyiwa, @the dailyseyi
2. Proenza Schouler Puffy Chain Tobo Bag
"I love a quilted, puffy bag. This one from Proenza is so universal. With a double-chain shoulder strap, it can be worn extended or short. I also love that it holds plenty of personal items along with all my kids' stuff—chic and functional!" — Caroline Maguire, fashion director, Shopbop
3. Clare V. Fanny Pack
"I'm a major fan of all things Clare V., but I'm really over the moon for its puffy, quilted check fanny pack. Hands-free, super fun and sporty, bright red… Pardon the pun, but it checks all the boxes! It'll transition from season to season, but I particularly like it for this in-between time where it's hard to dress for the weather. Let your accessories make the statement, right? Plus, if you're starting to travel a little, how can you not love a bag that doubles as a pillow in a pinch?" — Taylor Tomasi Hill, previous creative and fashion director, The Yes
4. Loewe Basket Tote
"I'm obsessed with Loewe's version of the basket bag. This reminds me of the basket bags that my grandma would have on hand to pack fruits and vegetables back in the Caribbean. It's also super versatile and chic." — Darren Graham, @therealdarrengraham
5. By Far Amira Bag
"While there are far more practical bag trends, I'm still not over the Y2K-inspired baguettes and shoulder bags we've seen everywhere. From logos to charms, I love when a shoulder bag is adorned with quirky elements. It feels like the perfect way to inject a little joy into your wardrobe without committing to the full aughts aesthetic." — Jasmine Fox-Suliaman, editor, Who What Wear
6. Coperni Swipe Bag
"I'm currently loving the Coperni Swipe Bag!" — Jullie Jeine, @jullie.jeine
7. Louis Vuitton Petit Sac Plat Bag
"The Louis Vuitton Petit Sac Plat. I'm loving the small-but-mighty bag trend that is continuing this year. This is an easy 'grab 'n' go,' 'throw across your body,' 'run to the grocery store,' or 'grab drinks with friends' type of bag. The neutral colors and monogram print pair with just about anything in my wardrobe." — Kim Wright, site merchandising manager, Fashionphile.
8. Chanel 19 Bag
"I purchased my first Chanel 19 about a year ago now, and it has been an ongoing love story ever since. It is elegant while still remaining casual, chic, but practical, and I love that the mixed-metal chains give it an edgier and more modern look." — Didier Young, @didieryhc
