I'm Putting It Out There—This "Boring" Nail Colour Is Actually Surprisingly Chic

I don't know about you, but over the last several months, I've had all kinds of colours on my nails, from strawberry red to minimalistic designs. Now, with 2024 now in full swing, I've never been more ready to switch back to more of a reliable, "boring" nail colour that I know will go with everything in my wardrobe. I tend to always opt for nude or a bright coral when summer rolls around, but in the spirit of trying something new, this year I decided to switch things up and go for a baby pink shade. Although I'm not usually a fan of pink, after seeing this option in my nail salon, I was immediately impressed by how chic it looked. Although it's not super adventurous, it felt good to try something different, and I've had so many compliments on my manicure ever since my appointment.
The great thing about this shade is that it's muted enough to complement any outfit, yet it adds a slight hint of colour and makes your nails look so polished. You can wear this trend in lots of different ways too, from baby pink French tips to fun nail art, depending on what you fancy. It seems I'm not the only one who's a fan, as the hashtag #babypinknails currently has over 18 million views on TikTok alone. As a beauty editor, I think it's the perfect colour for summer and beyond, so I've put together some of my favourite baby pink nail inspo pics for you to take to your next appointment. I've also linked some of my favourite nail polishes to re-create a chic baby pink manicure at home.

That's right, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is a fan too.
This shade looks so chic on short, square nails.
It also suits almond shapes too!
For an amped-up baby pink, pick a shade with more depth. Like this almost bubblegum baby pink.
The shade really does complement lots of neutral tones.
For special occasions, why not add a little iridescence?
Baby pink ombré? Yes, please!
Gucci does a gorgeous, slightly darker shade if that's more your thing.
Sometimes the most simple manicures are the most effective.
A sheer baby pink makes for a clean, cosy manicure.
