The 5 Basics Everyone Should Own, According to Adriana Lima

Over the course of her three-decade career, Adriana Lima has created one of the most impressive résumés in fashion, earning her the rightful title of supermodel. Her newest gig? Becoming the face of BCBGMaxAzria's Be Your Own Muse campaign for fall 2019. I interviewed Lima about the new role and her favorite fashion essentials and came away with some supermodel-approved tips.

When I asked Lima about the five basics everyone should own, she was quick to point out her favorites: "A great white button-down shirt to wear with jeans, a great pair of pants or a skirt, a black dress to take from day to night, a sleek dress coat that can go on top of any look and elevate it, and a good pair of heels," she told Who What Wear. Easy enough, right? Lima, who explained that BCBG resonates with her because it's a brand that empowers women, also revealed the one look she wishes she kept from her shoot: the red velvet outfit. Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
