There’s been quite a bit of holiday this and party that over the last couple of weeks, but don’t worry, we realize festive outfit ideas aren’t the only thing on your radar this month. That’s why we corralled 10 celebrity-inspired looks you can try now and in the New Year.

Sometimes all it takes is a swap of the hat (January Jones), an interesting mix of textures (Jessica Biel), or a pretty pastel hue (Olivia Wilde) to make your cold weather wardrobe feel new again. And there’s more wear that came from just beyond this slide.

Tip: Mix rich textures for an all-black look that is anything but basic.
While promoting her latest film, The Truth About Emanuel, Biel proved all-black doesn't have to be boring by simply combing different fabrics and textures. The actress paired AllSaints’ Belmont Leather Jacket ($525) with an eyelet skirt from Giambattista Valli’s Resort 14 collection, Fendi’s Borderline Clutch ($860), and Bionda Castana’s Daphne Bis Pumps ($939).
Tip: Hit on two major fall trends with a turtleneck and plaid pants.
Spotted outside the No. 11 Downing Street Christmas party in London, singer-songwriter Vickers assured us wearing two trends—in this case, Topshop’s Plaid Crop Trousers ($80) and a black turtleneck—is always better than one.
Tip: Swap a slouchy beanie for a more polished beret.
Jones bundled up Parisian-style for a lunch trip to Pasadena earlier this month, teaming a black beret with Leon Max’s Doubleweave Wool Coat ($498), MiH’s Ellsworth Jeans ($209) in Sugarblue, Loewe's Cruz Bag ($2600), and Coye Nokes black suede booties.
Tip: Style a crisp button-down under a graphic sweater.
At the announcement of the BORNFREE Campaign in New York last month, J.Crew’s President and Creative Director was perfectly polished in a J.Crew sweater worn over an Ascot Chang white shirt and paired with J.Crew trousers and Manolo Blahnik Suede BB Heels ($595).
Tip: Balance a fancy midi skirt with a t-shirt and flats.
To celebrate the opening of PAMM (Perez Art Museum Miami) during Art Basel earlier this month, model Kylie Kuhn grounded her Preen floral midi skirt with low-key pieces, including a vintage t-shirt and loafers.
Tip: Make a denim dress winter-appropriate with opaque tights.
Cotton didn’t let London’s chilly temps prevent her from wearing her Topshop denim mini dress. The BBC 1 Radio host gave it a cold weather update by styling it over a Gap t-shirt and opaque tights and finishing with a Theory coat.
