6 New Fashion Lines Poised to Be the Next It Brand

emerging fashion brands to know in 2021

Last month alone, I received upwards of 40 press releases and a flurry of DM's from newly-launched fashion brands and this is already on top of the dozens of new labels I constantly witness popping up on Instagram. Thanks mostly to social media, it's never been easier to bring a new clothing line into being and actually achieve a certain level of success early on. But not all brands are able to sustain themselves even after a much-buzzed-about launch, which is why we're jumping at the chance to share the emerging fashion brands that have the recipe for long-term success, even in a climate of microscopic attention spans.

What sets the following six names apart from the rest has to do with many different factors, but overall the winning combination often involves an impressive celebrity fan base, a stamp of approval from a leading luxury retailer like Net-a-Porter, and a well-edited collection that speaks to what women want to wear now. There's a lot of sameness going on in fashion right now, but each of these brands offers a perspective that's wholly original. From the '80s-style party frocks from London's 16Arlington to the beautifully minimal silhouettes on offer from NYC-based Bevza, keep reading to discover the up-and-coming fashion brands poised for It status.

1. Peter Do

After working under Phoebe Philo at Celine and then for Derek Lam, designer Peter Do launched his own namesake label at the beginning of the year and it has since received the acclaim of fashion's top insiders and earned a spot in Net-a-Porter's coveted Vanguard program. The ready-to-wear collection is filled with artfully deconstructed pieces and beautiful tailoring in clean, minimal palettes.

Party invitations will never stop flowing no matter the cause for celebration and fashion people will always need something cool to wear. Enter 16Arlington. The London-based brand offers an especially fun-loving assortment of slinky satin dresses and have earned a following for their standout feathery creations. Despite the aforementioned accouterments, the line takes a sleek and minimal approach to eveningwear.

3. Paris Texas

What do you get when you combine Parisian sophistication with Texan edge and a hint of Italian glamour? A shoe brand with the recipe for cult status and a notable fan base of celebrities and fashion insiders alike, from Emily Ratajkowski to Eva Chen.

4. Cecilie Bahnsen

Copenhagen seems to be a breeding ground for some of fashion's freshest rising stars. Among them is Cecilie Bahnsen, a Danish designer and LVMH Prize finalist whose frothy dresses have a whimsical, childlike quality to them that's both playful and utterly stylish.

5. Kassl

Described by Moda Operandi's fashion director Lisa Aiken as "the coolest coat brand I've seen in a really long time," Kassl is the outerwear brand out of Antwerp that's already been garnering street style fame at the recent F/W 19 shows in New York and Paris.

6. Bevza

When Phoebe Philo departed Celine last spring, she took her signature luxe minimalism with her, leaving a hole in the market for that we're finally starting to see be answered by brands like Bevza. Founded in 2006, the Ukranian label may not be "new", but it's been garnering more and more buzz as of late and we're keeping a close eye on its next moves.
