The 3 Most Important Trends for Winter
When she’s not working with big names like Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Hudson, and Hilary Swank or acting in her capacity as official Armi Captain at luxury rental and styling platform Armarium, celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger divulges her fashion expertise in our Ask a Stylist column. From the best places to source vintage to the secret to finding your most flattering jeans, come back each week for a professional’s perspective.
Welcome to my winter-weather edition of Ask a Stylist, where today I’m sharing the top trends to stock up on this season. With winter right around the corner, I’m already moving my lighter jackets toward the back of my wardrobe and making room for my trusted cold-weather items. When it comes to winter dressing, keeping warm while it’s freezing is the number one priority, so a hefty coat and cozy boots are always at the top of the list. Though these items are essential every time December rolls around, there are subtle, stylish updates and trends we see each season. For example, puffer coats are the outerwear of choice this year, and we’re seeing show-ready sturdy boots that are more fashion-forward than ever. Keep reading to shop the three winter trend I’m recommending to all my clients.
Stylish Puffers
Puffer jackets are definitely the most popular coat style of the season this year. On a cold day in NYC, you can't walk a block without seeing at least four fashionable outfits topped with a puffer coat.
Fashionable Winter Boots
Every season I'm pleasantly surprised by the plethora of stylish winter boots on the market. Classic brands like Sorel and Ugg are constantly producing updated designs without compromising functionality.
Warm Athleisure Essentials
Winter is the time to swap your cropped leggings and sets for pieces like HeatTech innerwear and items designed with thicker, cozier materials.
