The Classy Summer Trend I'm Wearing to Feel Comfy and Pulled-Together

It's official: The fashion world is losing it over linen this summer. Be it a midi dress or shorts, structured blazer or a button-up skirt, there are very few wardrobe staples that this fabric hasn't had its way with. Linen's have long been associated with the summertime thanks to their innate ability to embody that laid-back feeling through their natural crinkle. This year, fashion people are pushing linen's beyond their relaxing limits and looking to polished designs and considered combinations primed for days in the office or coffee dates. Enter the linen suit.
First things first: The 2024 linen suit comes in many iterations. There's the classic pairing of blazer and trousers, as well as the introduction of tailored linen shorts into the mix. Naturally, the fashion crowd can't get enough of waistcoats right now, so they've followed suit joining blazers, trousers, skirt and shorts in these mix-and-match linen suits primed for summer. You can basically make it as pulled-together or as laid-back as you like with the various combinations available.
Most of the designs this season come in beige and cream hues, which are classic enough to look good for many seasons to come. However, if you're looking for a little more personality, you will also find brighter shades from the likes of Reformation and & Other Stories. Personally, I'll be mixing these linen suits throughout my wardrobe. Pairing blazers with jeans, trousers with tank tops, skirts with detailed blouses, and of course mixing the linens together, too.
