Our Editors Share What Sneakers Are Worth Buying This Season
While there’s certainly a time and place for our chic mock-croc boots and sleek strappy sandals, there is something inherently cool about slipping on a pair of laid-back kicks—whether you’re styling it with sharp, tailored pieces or adding a casual touch to a lustrous slip dress. The spring runways were a testament to the staying power of the sporty shoe, with designers showcasing everything from embellished dad sneakers to tie-dye canvas trainers, lazy-girl Velcro kicks, and boot silhouettes. Heck, even royalty loves a good sneaker moment these days. Kate Middleton recently wore a $50 pair from Amazon.
So with a slew of new silhouettes, styles, and colors on the market right now, I turned to my fellow editors to see what sneakers they are investing in for the season ahead. Scroll below to shop our favorite pairs.
I love my classic white Supergas, but this season I'm trading them for an embellished version. Everything about these beauties makes me smile, from the colorful braided laces to the very on-trend seashell detailing. These will be going with me on every warm-weather vacation.
"I bought these new It sneakers because the neutral colors are so on trend right now, and they looked very lightweight, which I'll appreciate this spring and summer."
"I love that these sneakers are neutral in terms of how you can style them but still far from basic. I also tend to opt for Nikes because they're unbeatable in terms of comfort."
"I am not much of a sneaker girl, so when I choose to wear them, I want them to feel really fresh. I love how these are a little bit '80s and a little bit neon—a mix of trends that is surprisingly wearable."
"Fila definitely knows how to make an It shoe, and I love the pretty pastel color of these sneakers, in particular."
"The bright pops of color in these sneakers are such a cool and unexpected way to tackle the neon trend."
"These Chanel sneakers have been on my wishlist for years, and I think it's time to finally order them."
