This summer, it seems like there have never been so many different aesthetics fighting for our attention. Do we go the super-glam Bridgerton-inspired princesscore route, or the cool on-trend, coastal grandma look? Are you more of a Y2K, micro skirt–loving, fashion person, or are you all about the sporty chic, tennis club, on the golf course vibe?

For me, I am leaning towards the simple yet elevated, model-off-duty, casual summer look. This is new for me, as I usually go all out when it comes to my outfits. I am not afraid of bold colors or out-of-the-norm silhouettes, so usually when I see pieces like this I get excited to try them on and end up collecting a ton of statement pieces that don’t exactly work with my day-to-day life. That said, I have switched gears to a simpler everyday style, without sacrificing any style, cool factor, or personality. I’ve found five outfit formulas that are so easy and chic I can guarantee you’ll be wearing them on repeat.

Keep scrolling to check out the simple yet fashionable outfits that never fail.

1. Tube Top + Cargo Pants

This outfit combo may be my new summer uniform. I love the easy-breezy-ness of this look. It’s the ultimate cool-girl, day-off look that you can style with sunglasses and flat sandals, sneakers, or even heeled mules if you’re thinking about going out later. I wore this look the other day and have never felt cooler.

2. Simple Dress + Flat Sandals

I’m actually wearing this look as I’m writing this. I mean nothing says a chic summer day like this outfit combination. You can be going to work, the farmers market, on a daytime date, or meeting friends and this look totally works. I’m loving a bodycon midi dress with flat sandals or flip-flops and top off the look with sunglasses.

3. Denim Shorts + Blazer + Heels

I’ve always felt like denim shorts have a certain ultra-casual feel to them, so when I wear them, I try to dress up the look with a chic heel and a blazer. This is the perfect summer outfit for date night, meeting friends for dinner, a night out with friends, or even a weekend lunch date.

4. Minidress + Mules

One of the best things about summer is that you get to dust off your favorite minidresses after months of hiding them away. Lately, I’m all about the leg-bearing silhouette, as it’s such a fun look that is perfect for basically every summer event on your calendar. I love to style my minidress with heeled mules and a mini bag.

5. Jeans + Simple Top + Flip-Flops

Don’t underestimate the power of this ultra-simple outfit. What’s great about this look is that the star of the look is how it fits. This look is all about being super flattering and showing off how great tailoring can elevate your look. A well-fitted bodysuit or top paired with tailored denim and flip-flops is just *chef’s kiss.*
