Designer, artist, and best-selling author Justina Blakeney has established a career built on the foundation of self-expression. Known for her unique style full of color, pattern, and a passion for plants, Blakeney believes decorating is about feeling free, having fun, and getting a little bit wild. In 2009, Blakeney started her now-notorious interiors and home blog, Jungalow. There, she showcased her own personal style and became one of the leading design personalities on the web, with over two million followers online, and developed a devoted community. Since then Blakeney has gone on to become a New York Times best-selling author of The New Bohemians and The New Bohemians Handbook. She also designed her own eponymous product line, ultimately growing the Jungalow brand. Today, Jungalow serves as a one-stop shop for bohemian-modern home décor, inspiring interior ideas, and goods from around the globe.
Prior to building the brand, Blakeney started her career running a boutique in Florence with her sister, where they wrote and published a series of craft books, until she eventually returned home to Los Angeles. Back in L.A., she worked as an editor for art, design, and culture publications and as a graphic designer and consultant for various clients. As her career journey is filled with exciting creative exploration, Blakeney came to the conclusion that her unique vision combined with her technical skills was exactly what she needed to start her own thing.
