These 7 Runway Moments Double as Easy Holiday Outfit Inspo
Yet another year of amazing runway looks has come and gone, and as I begin to think about my end-of-year wardrobe, I’m curious what runway designers would suggest that I wear—so I stalked their latest designs for inspiration. Long ago, I said goodbye to the notion that haute couture and runway designs are reserved for very special occasions and now use them as inspiration for my day-to-day outfits. And thanks to this article, you can too.
Whether you're attending an office-friendly soirée, a cozy family gathering, or a glamorous year-end celebration, these runway looks can be effortlessly translated into your wardrobe without compromising on comfort. End the year by trying out one of these holiday-ready runway looks, and thank me later.
Whether you're hitting up a holiday party or already planning your New Year's Eve look, a sequin skirt is a must-have on your list of holiday buys. You can style it with any wardrobe staple in your closet but bonus points if it's sheer.

This is quite the contrast to my previous photo, but if you're heading home for the holidays and trying to lie low, stunt on your hometown friends in this quiet luxury look that reminds me of something Princess Diana would wear. BTW, traveling with just a duffel bag is peak luxury.
Shop the look:
One of my favorite trends this year has been Greek-goddess-inspired clothing. Nothing feels more luxurious to me than draping and gold. If you're not yet ready to get in on the capri trend, you can still re-create this look with a midi or miniskirt.
Shop the look:
When the holiday party dress code says casual, this Chanel look is the way to go. Denim gets all dressed up when you add a cool top and striped blouse. The perfect subtle approach to a festive look includes mixing prints.
Plaid is another print that feels effortlessly festive, and you can easily style a dress like this in more ways than one. Pair it with knee-high stockings for the holidays and a colorful heel come spring.
One of my favorite tricks for boarding a plane with everything I need is layering. When my suitcase just can't squeeze anything else, I'll layer up right before take off. Your T-shirt, button-down shirt, leather jacket, and pants don't need to be in your carry-on.
Styling my dresses this time of year becomes way more fun because I get to pick out a jacket to go right along with it. Let your trench coat do the heavy lifting by styling it like so.
Sierra Mayhew was always destined to work in fashion, but she didn't know it at first. Growing up with no choice but to wear a rotation of school uniforms and activewear, her love for fashion really blossomed when she moved away for college and was able to finally define her very own personal style. Shortly thereafter, she interned at Elle magazine and instantly knew that editorial was for her. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, she worked for ShopBazaar, contributing regularly to Bazaar.com, and finally made her way to Who What Wear, where she is an associate editor. When she’s not working, you can catch her always trying to catch a flight, trying the latest fitness craze in New York City, or exploring luxury vintage boutiques.
