From RMS to Nars, Net-a-Porter's Beauty Clearance Is Actually Amazing
You know you're a true beauty product fanatic when, even as an editor, your blood pressure surges at the mere mention of a sale, especially when said sale entails one of your favorite fashion-and-beauty retailers (ahem, Net-a-Porter!) and a jaw-dropping clearance of up to 80% off. This is not a drill, folks.
Net-a-Porter's buzz-generating clearance is in full swing, and some of the best beauty brands in the big leagues (e.g., RMS Beauty, Nars, Hourglass, Marc Jacobs Beauty, and so many more) are included. Not all sales are a beauty lover's idea of heaven on Earth, but this particular one most definitely is. Because shopping and testing beauty products is a huge part of my job description, I've nitpicked my way through Net-a-Porter's beauty clearance offerings to share the truly stellar products I'd recommend you snap up before they sell out. (Because they definitely will!) From makeup to haircare to skincare, on your mark, get set, shop!
Nannette de Gaspé
Nannette de Gaspé's line is like the Rolls-Royce of sheet masks. I personally love them because they're waterless and dry (i.e., not drippy—my worst nightmare!) and use the brand's special Techstile fabric to wrap the skin around the mouth area with potent anti-aging and line-minimizing ingredients.
I totally get how a mask you stick to your boobs for more firmness, shape, and elasticity might sound gimmicky, but I know plenty of makeup artists who swear by the ritual pre–red carpet. (And hey, if it's good enough for the A-list, it's definitely good enough for me!) Using the same Techstile fabric, this mask feels dry and uses Biomimetic MicroVector technology to infuse your skin with plumping hyaluronic acid and antioxidant-rich marine collagen.
Angela Caglia
An aptly titled, very dreamy exfoliating mask from one of the industry's most sought-after facialists, Angela Caglia. It smells like a French rose garden and has a gentle mix of brightening and cell-sloughing ingredients like purple sweet potato extract and glycolic acid.
If you're a cleansing-balm type of person, you have found your match with this delicious concoction. It features a unique assortment of hydrating and nourishing additions (meadowfoam sea oil, rose geranium, shea butter, etc.) that not only de-gunk your pores but feel like a true self-care ritual at the end of a long day—win-win.
Face oils are one of those categories of skincare in which I truly feel you get what you pay for. This lush melding of meadowfoam, buriti, and rose geranium is normally $160, so at $80 less, I don't know what on Earth you're waiting for. It's the best kind of nightcap—especially if your skin is as parched as mine has been this winter.
Algenist
Anything from Algenist is superb, but the fact that this top-rated foam cleanser is on sale feels pretty magical. It boasts the brand's signature hero ingredient—microalgae oil—in addition to alguronic acid to diminish the severity of fine lines and wrinkles while keeping your complexion supple and hydrated. No stripping here!
Erno Laszlo
So, you need to treat your skin to a face cream post-cleanse, and this spirulina- and hyaluronic acid–spiked face cream is definitely the answer. It's great for dry, sensitive skin and also has some serious firming perks.
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare
This is BIG. Only the best dermatologists and facialists fangirl over Dr. Dennis Gross's skin offerings, and this five-piece set houses THE most cult-loved formulas—including the Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel that pretty much every glowy celeb swears by.
Pursoma
I'm a sucker for any product that will give me a luxurious bath experience, and this seaweed- and French grey sea salt–enriched scrub is one of my favorite ways to buff away rough skin, unwind, and feel glowier and more balanced in 30 minutes' time.
James Read
In case you missed it, celebrity tanning artist James Read and all of his stupendous products are the best of the best in the realm of faux tanning. If you love to multitask while you log your beauty sleep, try this epic sleeping mask which delivers even, sun-kissed color by the time your alarm sounds. It's one of my absolute musts from the line, and I say that as an avid self-tanner who's borderline addicted to trying every brand and formula that hits the market.
Lipstick Queen
No surprise here. Lipstick Queen makes some of the best lipsticks in the biz. (Great colors, super-hydrating, you get the idea.) This formula, in particular, is on sale, long-wearing, and super pigmented for maximum impact. Plus, the brand has gone and outdone itself by enriching the bullet with lip-loving vitamins.
Surratt Beauty
I discovered Surratt Beauty because literally every makeup artist loves and sings its praises. And right now, some of the brand's best lip products are included in Net-a-Porter's array of clearance items. This matte but still moisturizing lip crayon is the stuff of dreams, and I dare you not to buy every single color at just $10 a pop.
Or if sheer, hydrating lippie formulas are more your speed, there's this epic alternative which definitely begs your immediate consideration.
I'm personally obsessed with the French-girl beauty aesthetic, which is why this lip product is perfect. Inspired by the way French girls wear their lipstick (aka, perfectly defined), this stylo is double-ended with a rich, creamy formula on one side to contour and fill and a mattifying pigment powder in a matching hue on the other side to set your application with long-lasting durability.
Laura Mercier
Meet the most OG concealer that makeup artists still love and recommend on the regular. It does its name proud by camouflaging any shadows, bumps, or discoloration you're looking to minimize sans typical concealer symptoms like cakiness. I'm honestly mind-blow it's only $10 right now. This cleared my pockets back in college!
A subtle double dose of coverage and sun protection. This is the brand's beloved tinted moisturizer but in a compact cream form.
By Terry
This isn't your average lip pencil. It's a unique two-tone idea that delivers a pretty ombré effect with a few simple sweeps and is also buildable depending on how opaque you want your finish.
For expert application of this French-made blush, use the lighter shade to add pep to the apples of your cheeks and across your cheekbones, and then use the darker hue to the hollows of your cheeks for a subtle hit of contour.
Part blush, part highlighter, this luminizing balm is the hybrid product of any beauty lover's dreams.
Apply this gorgeous product like a gloss, but revel in the stunning, semi-matte, semi-satin finish that will actually stay (and stay) on your lips.
Make Beauty
Think of this zippy red lip lacquer like you would your favorite leather jacket. It's classic, goes with everything, and looks chic and polished AF.
Chantecaille
Chantecaille is one of my favorite makeup brands, point-blank. And its Lip Veil is one of the best lipsticks, point-blank. Rich and lovely, the formula is also infused with organic fares like baobab oil (sourced from Africa) for max nutrition and zero chance of chapping.
I recommend pairing it with its equally great lip pencil, which is scarily affordable at just $8.
Shiseido
Lil Mama–level gloss wearers, this doe-foot tube from beautiful Japanese brand Shiseido is for you. Think a sheer burst of non-sticky color and shine that wears well with minimal reapplications needed.
Kevyn Aucoin
For a glossy, borderline-wet look, I'm obsessed with Kevyn Aucoin's range of lip colors. Plus, the colors are retro and stunning. I always get questions and compliments when I've swiped!
Also, this vitamin-rich lipstick is one of the softest and most hydrating I've ever tried. The color also stays strong even after I've surpassed my second coffee. Or cocktail.
Nars
When it comes to Nars's iconic velvet lip glides, there is no wrong answer in optimum color choice, but Toy—a rich plum—is the shade that I'm most obsessed with.
RMS Beauty
Looking for the best clean lipstick on the market? This formula is brimming with luxe oils and antioxidants and consistently wins award after award. The finish is soft and satin—not too matte and not too shiny.
Marc Jacobs Beauty
This is one of my favorite MJ products, period (seriously, the candlelit, shimmery glow is so pretty), so the fact that it's included in the sale is huge for me.
Not to mention the brand's Le Marc crayons are iconic with gorgeous colors and a lightweight, liquid-like consistency.
Or there's the brand's more traditional, fan-favorite bullet. Pick your poison!
One of the best mascaras ever (we're talking falsies-level lashes) is paired with a gel liner and a glamorous glitter liner—all packaged in a chic and shiny purple clutch.
A little extra sun protection never hurt anyone! Especially when it's packaged in a sheer, lightweight foundation that looks invisible on top of your skin.
As someone who is devoted to liquid eyeliner, I can honestly say this new formula from Marc Jacobs Beauty is one of the best, and I love how fun and eye-catching the metallic finish is.
The perfect pop of glittery pigment for your lids. (Ahem, it looks unreal in photos.)
Hourglass
This gloss is so high-shine and long-wearing, one application truly fakes the appearance of a fuller, much plumper pout.
I'm always confused as to why Hourglass's Panoramic Lip Liner hasn't received more fame and attention. Not only is the liner itself fantastic, but it's also double-ended with a brush on the other side so you can blend and apply with perfect precision.
