If the royal wedding (and Meghan Markle's Givenchy gown) have consumed your thoughts over the last week, hey, you're not alone (one of our editors was up at 3 a.m. to cover the big day!). But there's another wedding on our minds this morning thanks to Michelle Obama. Leading up to the release of her upcoming book Becoming, the former first lady has been sharing a number of photos from her childhood and younger adult life, including an adorable picture from her wedding day in 1992.
"You can't tell it from this photo, but Barack woke up on our wedding day in October, 1992 with a nasty head cold," Obama captioned her photo. "Somehow, by the time I met him at the altar, it had miraculously disappeared and we ended up dancing almost all night." In the 25-year-old photo, Obama wore a full-skirted off-the-shoulder dress with white tights and coordinated silk pumps. While the look is definitely a throwback (those shoulders!) it's one that's equal parts elegant and just plain fun to look back on.
