Lucy Hale Wore the Only Sneakers I'd Consider Buying Right Now

Practicality is the name of the game right now. More than ever, I find myself shoving anything fussy or high-maintenance to the back of my closet. When it comes to shoes, I'm pretty much only wearing one style when I leave the house to walk the dog or get groceries: slip-on sneakers. I've always been a germaphobe, but now I'm extra conscious of minimizing the number of things I have to touch. Hence, being able to slide my sneakers on and off without having to touch my dirty shoes is so helpful.

That said, slip-on sneakers certainly don't have to be boring, as Lucy Hale just demonstrated. Photographed at the grocery store, Hale wore a super-casual outfit including a baseball cap, crew-neck sweater, and leggings. Of course, I'm especially drawn to her cute Vans Slip-On Sneakers ($50) because the red-and-white colorway is a fun update to the traditional black-and-white checkerboard. Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
