11 Trends I've Been Wearing for at Least 2 Years

The fashion trend cycle moves at a rapid pace, but buying into every single new trend every season is pretty impossible. Don't get me wrong—I love trying new ones, but as a supplement to my existing wardrobe of basics and long-lasting trends.

Speaking of long-lasting trends, I always try to predict the ones that will stick around when choosing what to buy. Not all trends peak in one season, and it's wise of brands to keep certain trends going in their collections. I know that when I see a brand really invest in a trend, I'm more likely to invest in it.

In the case of these eleven trends, I certainly lucked out with the longevity component. I checked my camera roll and I've been wearing all of them for at least two years and plan on continuing to do so. Scroll to shop them for yourself and to check my receipts via photographic proof.

Cardigans

At this point, I hardly remember when cardigans weren't a trend. I plan on keeping them in my wardrobe for years to come, especially since there are so many fun variations to choose from these days.

Loose Jeans

It's baggy jeans over skinny jeans any day of the week for me. Denim trends typically have considerable longevity, so I haven't held back from adding plenty of loose pairs to my wardrobe.

Pearl Jewelry

Although the focal point of this photo is clearly my very cute puppy, I'm talking about my pearl earrings. Chunky pearl jewelry elevates any outfit and I hope it's a jewelry trend that never fades away.

Baseball Caps

Even though I'm far from sporty, a sporty baseball cap has become a staple in my wardrobe.

Knee-High Boots

Although I haven't bought tons of knee-high boots (they take up a lot of closet space), the pairs I do own have been worn by me often. The polish they add to an outfit is hard to match with other boot styles.

Green

Whether in the form of pistachio, Kelly green, lime green, or forest green, I am all in. (And believe it or not, this isn't my only pair of green pants.)

Square-Toe Shoes

Square-toe shoes may not be as fresh as they once were, but they're not going anywhere, so I have no problem with half of my shoe collection being square-toed.

Crew Socks

I love that crew socks are a minor, inexpensive item that makes a bit impact, especially when worn over leggings or with shorts or a dress.

Chunky Loafers

I have quite a few pairs of loafers, but these Prada ones are my the ones I wear the most (and they happen to be the chunkiest).

Baguette Bags

The ultimate '90s-inspired bag trend is still going strong, as is my love for it. This photo taken almost three years ago—featuring my BY FAR bag—proves it.

Suiting

I don't wear suits a ton, but when I do, I always feel cool and polished, and I wonder why I don't wear them more often. This trend is eternally beloved among the fashion crowd for a reason.
