Um, Kim Kardashian's Gucci Thong Is Actually in a Museum
If you're one of Kim Kardashian West's 116 million Instagram followers, you might have caught her newest lingerie-revealing photo, but her Gucci-logo thong isn't your average undergarment. It's actually a vintage bathing suit from Tom Ford's controversial S/S 97 collection, where some models walked the runway in nothing but a thong and a pair of shoes. And as W magazine pointed out, it made such a splash in the '90s that it's part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's official collection—yes, really.
Not only is it Met-approved, but W magazine also uncovered an image from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's 2016 exhibition on men's style, which also included the thong. Did you have any doubt that West could get her hands on her own version of a museum-worthy item? Scroll down to see the item in question and shop the Gucci logo for yourself.
