Your June Shopping List Is Here: 10 Items to Prioritize Over Everything Else

Welcome to 10 Things to Buy, a monthly shopping list that helps you shop smarter by focusing on the 10 key items to add to your cart that month if your wardrobe is in need of a boost. As a Who What Wear editor for the past 11 years, I've spent many hours advising people on what to shop for during any given season, so you're in good hands. Whether you're shopping for cold weather, warm weather, a vacation, or a wedding, I'm here to offer up the most seasonally appropriate suggestions. Be sure to return at the start of each month for more.

It feels like we've been talking about summer since 2025 began, but it's actually finally here. Even though I'm not a huge fan of summer (the heat, the sun, the bugs...), it's my favorite season to shop for. It's the time of year when we can have the most fun with fashion, without having to worry so much about function. If you've been eyeing any cool summer trends, now is the time to add them to your wardrobe, long before we all start to think about shopping for fall. For this month's 10 Things to Buy, I've compiled some of my favorite summer trends and basics that you'll want to wear throughout June and beyond. Keep scrolling to shop the goods.

Knit Tank Tops

First up: the ultimate summer basic. I tend to wear my simple knit tanks a lot, so I order a few fresh ones at the start of each summer in neutral and trendy colors.

Athletic Shorts

I'm really loving the athletic shorts trend this year. For the most fashion person-coded way to style them, wear with pieces that are more elegant than sporty. The contrast results in a very cool outfit.

Raffia Accessories

Bags, hats, belts, shoes—designers are making everything out of raffia, and it's been that way summer after summer for quite some time now. I, for one, don't expect that to change. Raffia gives outfits a carefree, effortless vibe that's just right for June.

Embellished Heels

It's the season of fun heels, and the best ones I've come across have some sort of embellishment on them. Consider it jewelry for your feet.

Summer Jeans

If you're like me and have trouble parting with jeans during the summer, I have good news. Brands like Levi's and Agolde are making them out of lightweight denim, so you don't have to sacrifice your comfort to wear them when it's hot out.

Crochet Pieces

Crochet is everywhere right now, and I've noticed that the best pieces are selling out left and right. In my opinion, crochet is one of the prettiest trends of summer 2025, and it's also quite timeless.

Jelly Shoes

If you haven't jumped on the jelly shoe trend yet, now's the time. This is a high-summer trend that you'll want to wear as much as possible now as opposed to later.

Silk Scarves

People are doing very cool things with pretty silk scarves this season—wearing them as belts, in their hair, around their necks, and so on. I say choose one that's vibrant and special for the summer months.

Versatile Dresses

Summer is the season to spend less time worrying about what you're gonna wear and more going out in the world and doing things. That's why we all need versatile dresses that'll take us from day to night in our closets.

Linen Jackets

I've noticed that polished linen jackets have become a thing this summer, and I support this. If you want to look extremely elegant without overheating, you need one.
