I Want a Snatched Jaw Sans Filler—7 Sculpting Tools That Actually Make a Difference
At least temporarily.
If you're a skincare fanatic, you've likely stumbled across at least one lymphatic-drainage tutorial in your life. Watching creators rake jade gua shas down their faces and necks and show off their before-and-after photos—one slightly puffier than the other—probably earned a quick double tap from you. With that, your algorithm knew you were in. Along came the facial-sculpting massages people recommend in your area, then the microcurrent devices you can shop online to get "snatched" from the comfort of your home. You've opened Pandora's box of face-sculpting tools, and now, it's time to figure out which is actually right for you.
"Facial puffiness is usually caused by excess fluid building up in the tissues, and there are so many everyday things that can contribute to it," says lymphatic-drainage specialist Val Oliveira. The expert says there are a myriad of reasons why you may appear puffy on occasion, from sleeping flat to dehydration, alcohol consumption, and even travel days. "When puffiness is related to temporary fluid retention, supporting lymphatic drainage can help move that excess fluid and help the face appear more defined," she explains. However, licensed aesthetician and massage therapist Serena Licastro reminds us that these tools can't work miracles. "We are not changing bone structure," she starts, "but we can create a more sculpted appearance by de-puffing, releasing facial tension, and supporting movement in the tissue." The result is a more refreshed and defined face and sometimes alleviated pressure in the sinuses and temples.
Keep scrolling to see the seven face-sculpting tools that specialists and Who What Wear beauty editors recommend for a snatched appearance at home.
The Best Face-Sculpting Tools of 2026, at a Glance
- Best Overall: Mount Lai Jade Gua Sha
- Best Laser: Lyma Laser
- Best Microcurrent: NuFace Trinity+ Starter Kit
- Best De-Puffing: Therabody TheraFace Depuffing Wand
- Best Firming: Ziip Halo
Best Overall: Mount Lai Jade Gua Sha
Pros: Cost-effective, ergonomic design, stimulates lymphatic drainage
Cons: Doesn't have collagen-boosting properties or exfoliation benefits
Material: Jade | Frequency: 1–2 times per day | Treatment time: 5–10 min. | Key benefits: Lifts skin, releases tension, contours features
The pros agree: Gua sha is one of the easiest, most cost-efficient, and beneficial ways to sculpt your face from home. "For me, a gua sha stone in practiced hands will always be the ultimate sculpting tool," says Licastro. "When used properly, it can help encourage fluid movement, reduce puffiness, and make areas like the jawline and cheekbones look more defined," Oliveira adds. The lymphatic-drainage specialist recommends this one specifically. "Its shape makes it easy to work along the jawline, cheeks, and other contours of the face," says Oliveira. Plus, she points out, it's easy for beginners to use.
Customer review: "This tool helps with my sinuses, my aging skin, and tight neck muscles, and definitely my blood flow. It also helps apply my serums more evenly and with a cooler device than my hands. My dermatologist referred me to Mount Lai, and we love this company! I need to stop dropping it in my sink, but I will buy it again every time."
Best Laser: Lyma Laser
Pros: Painless treatments, visibly smooths skin, firms jawline, neck, and jowls
Cons: Quite pricey
Material: Cold laser | Frequency: Daily for 12 weeks, then 3 times per week | Treatment time: 3 min. per area | Key benefits: Visibly smooths lines, wrinkles, and jowls and lifts sagging skin on face and body
If there's one expensive device celebrity facialist Iván Pol suggests investing in, it's the Lyma Laser. Between two of our beauty editors (Kaitlyn McLintock loves the Lyma Laser, Jamie Chevron backs the Lyma Laser Pro) and this expert endorsement, I'm ready to add one to my cart as is, but if you're new to the Lyma fan club, buckle up. This handheld device is engineered with cold laser technology for truly painless sessions, which can spot-treat everything from sagging skin to jowls and deep wrinkles, making it a true skin-tightening treatment from home. Its Deep Plane Technology permeates the skin barrier farther than your typical at-home devices, activating youth genes and improving elasticity at rates that rival in-office treatments, and requires zero downtime after a treatment. You can even use it over makeup! At nearly $2700, this device sits on the farthest end of our recommendation list price-wise, but it costs a fraction of the dues you would pay a medical spa for similar results.
Customer review: "We dermatologists are not big fans of at-home devices. In general, we think that clinic-based treatments will give faster and more dramatic outcomes. I bought this device anyway to treat myself for Christmas. I already had good skin, but I was starting to notice sagging of [the] skin and signs of aging (which most people won't even notice). After 2 months of use (which could have been more consistent, but Christmas and holidays happened), I am surprised by the results. My jawline is prominent, my skin is more evenly toned; overall, I feel more confident (certain changes even I can't pinpoint). I am so pleased I took the risk and bought it."

Best Microcurrent: NuFace Trinity+ Starter Kit
Pros: Noticeable results, lifts and tones while tightening skin, doesn't irritate sensitive skin
Cons: None we can think of
Material: Stainless steel electrodes | Frequency: 5 days per week for 60 days, then 2–3 times per week | Treatment time: 5 min. | Key benefits: Tightens skin, firms sagging skin, smooths wrinkles
Lymphatic drainage is a great way to get started on your face-sculpting journey, but what if you're ready to take things to the next level? "Microcurrent devices are another option for people who want more of a toning and lifting effect," says Oliveira. Both she and Licastro quickly recommend the NuFace Trinity+, a microcurrent device that features three different microcurrent modes for targeted skin lifting, toning, and tightening. Oliveira praises the tool for its easy-to-use mechanics, and Licastro prefers it for its ergonomic design. Specifically, its bulbous head makes it easy to sculpt and carve the cheeks, jawline, and forehead. Plus, it comes with skincare-infused conductor gel, a flat applicator brush, and a follow-up cream to make the process luxurious.
Customer review: "I am actually obsessed with this. It makes it so easy to give myself a quick facelift. It's such a cool product and gives great results. The app makes it really easy to use with it too. Highly recommend!"
Best Cooling: Therabody TheraFace Depuffing Wand
Pros: Curved applicator mimics contours of face, heated and cooling technology, improves skin texture and tone
Cons: Nothing we can think of
Material: Copper/aluminum alloy | Frequency: Daily | Treatment time: 6 min. | Key benefits: Contrast temperature settings, de-puffing technology
If your main concern is puffiness, you may want to consider the Therabody TheraFace Depuffing Wand. Beloved by editors and sculpting experts like Pol, the device is not only exceptionally easy to use, but its contrast temperature technology also delivers near-immediate results. "I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Depuffing Wand actually worked," assistant beauty editor Sabrina Talbert wrote in her review. "I got the best results from starting with a cold setting and ending with heat. I was honestly a bit skeptical that I'd see results in just a few minutes, but I think the combination truly gave me a less tired-looking appearance." Pol also backs the tool for its cooling technology—a surefire way to decrease puffiness in little time. "Cooling tools and gentle facial massage can help temporarily reduce puffiness, which may make your natural contours look more pronounced," he explains. Plus, compared to the other tools, it is reasonably priced.
Customer review: "I love my Therabody; [I] use it on cold in the mornings and at night on heat. Helps with the water retention under my eyes in the morning, and at night the heat helps with my dry eye syndrome. Great tool in my fight to look my best in my 70s."
Best Firming: Ziip Halo
Pros: Impressive lifting capabilities, minimizes sagging, improves texture and tone
Cons: On the expensive side
Material: Steel electrodes | Frequency: 3–5 times per week | Treatment time: 2–12 min. | Key benefit: Customizable treatments
Another microcurrent device that should be on your radar if you're looking to target wrinkles, sagging skin, and hyperpigmentation is the Ziip Halo. This "do it all" tool uses electrical currents to work with the natural bioelectricity of the body, inspiring smoother, brighter skin and a smoother barrier. Instead of picking from a select few built-in treatment modes, the product is designed to offer customized treatments for your individual concerns, such as de-puffing, contouring, and wrinkle smoothing. While it's on the expensive side, it's a worthy investment for anyone who wants to target both the skin's firmness and texture while contouring the face.
Customer review: "I am a loyal user of my Ziip Halo. This is my third Ziip. I started out with the 1st version some years ago. I will be 75 years old in two days, and the other day, a grocery checker said that I am a very beautiful woman. She had no idea what age I was or who I was. I get compliments all the time about how nice my skin looks. I've even thought about using it on my arms! No facelift; just great skincare."
Best Dry Brush: Primally Pure Facial Dry Brush
Pros: Exfoliates skin, drains lymphatic fluid, under $20
Cons: No significant sculpting benefits
Material: Goat-hair bristles | Frequency: Daily | Treatment time: 2 min. | Key benefits: Removes buildup and blackheads
You've heard of dry brushing, but have you ever tried it on your face? (Disclaimer: Don't use your regular dry brush on your face—too abrasive!) "Face dry brushing can be great to use, too, especially in the morning when you wake up puffy," says Oliveira. This model from Primally Pure features a curved handle that's easy to grip and extra-soft goat-hair bristles for gentle buffing. It not only clears out blackheads and milia, but it also de-puffs the skin and promote lymphatic drainage. Oh, and did I mention that it's only $18?
Customer review: "This little brush is perfect for dry brushing your face and neck. The bristles are soft, non-irritating, and the perfect pressure to use for stimulating the lymphatic system. It brings blood flow to my face and helps my skin wake up in the morning. Love her!"
Best Multitasking: Lauvée L1 Facial Cleansing & Drainage Brush
Pros: Promotes drainage, removes blackheads, cleanses stubborn makeup remnants
Cons: None we can think of
Material: Nylon, fiberglass, silicone | Frequency: Daily | Treatment time: 2 min. | Key benefits: Prevents blemishes, exfoliates skin
While we're on the topic of face brushes, this multitasking brush from French beauty brand Lauvée is great for beauty lovers who want their tools to knock several steps out of their routine. The handheld device utilizes a "deep massage cleansing" technology, which sends micropulsations into the bristles that massage and drain excess fluid. This cleanses and exfoliates the skin as it roves across your face, washing away makeup, sebum, and the day's buildup along with it.
What to Look for in a Face-Sculpting Tool
- Sculpting abilities: Whether a curved edge or a sculpting microcurrent device, your tool should ideally have an edge or stimulating bristles that can promote drainage.
- Consistency: While this is more of a you thing and less of a product thing, you want to make sure to invest in a product that you know you will reach for time and again. "I recommend making your facial ritual a consistent part of your routine—ideally daily if your skin tolerates it or at least three times a week," says Pol.
- Ergonomic design: Seeing as you may be using the product up to 12 minutes a day (in the case of the Ziip Halo, that is), the tool should fit comfortably in your hand for easy, painless use.
What skincare should I use with a sculpting device?
Pol is glad you asked. Because facial puffiness can only be temporarily relieved by sculpting tools and massage techniques, skincare plays a major part of the long-term results—notably when it comes to firmer skin. "For me, it's never just about the tool. It's about the entire recipe," says Pol. "That's where the right skincare ritual can make a difference, particularly when you're trying to achieve that lifted, sculpted look."
Though you should use a gua sha with oil or hydrating serum for that necessary slip (never tug or pull at the skin—your tool should effortlessly glide), microcurrent devices and face brushes should generally be used alone or with products expressly recommended in the directions. Once your sculpting session is over, it's officially time for skincare.
Pol recommends The Beauty Sandwich's SS02 Snatching Sauce and Amuse Bouche Facial Mist for a more sculpted appearance with firmer, tighter skin with longevity. Before using any sort of sculpting technique, Pol likes to prepare and refresh the skin with a light dusting of the facial mist. "[It] hydrates and primes the skin, giving it that fresh, dewy glow," he explains. But as the name infers, SS02 is Pol's hero product for a snatched face. "It's formulated with a blend of botanical oils and skin-conditioning ingredients to help the skin look tighter, smoother, and more defined," he says. "I think of it as shapewear for the skin." When paired, they create Pol's signature recipe for red carpet skin. His past clients—including Emma Stone, Bella Hadid, and Hailey Bieber—are living proof of its chiseling glass skin results.
How do I use a gua sha?
It's important to start with a base product that offers slip. Think a facial oil or serum. As a person with sensitive skin, I prefer a facial-cleansing oil like the Femmue Brilliant Cleansing Oil, though dermatologists also highly recommend the Furtuna Skin Biphase Moisturizing Oil. "With gua sha, the biggest mistake I see is people pressing too hard," says Oliveira. "For lymphatic drainage, you want light pressure and slow, gentle strokes. … I like to start around the neck and work outward and downward toward the lymph nodes before moving onto the jawline, cheeks, and the rest of the face." The specialist recommends you use the tool for a few minutes per day or several times per week if a daily commitment is too much.
