I Spotted So Many Trending Sandals At Zara This Week—These 5 Are Sure To Sell Out
Zara is leaning into these sandal trends this season, from caged and embellished sandals to suede and velvet—none of which you'll want to miss.
Sandals rank squarely as my favourite style of shoe, so now that spring has finally shown face, I'm quickly scanning for the shoe trends set to be big for the remainder of the season and into summer. Shoes are like mini works of art to me, and sandals are no different. They bring with them an ease and effortlessness that's rare in other types of footwear. Hence, why you can find me voraciously scrolling through my social feeds to discover new options that catch my eye.
But this isn't the only place I look for inspiration. Retailers are also some of the best indicators and leaders of what people will love this year. This is particularly true for Zara, as it frequently has viral shoe trends and quick-to-sell-out styles. The following curation of Zara sandal trends I've plucked from the site shows there's something for everyone, and at a price you can get behind.
After flicking through pages of sandals on Zara's site, there were five specific looks that I saw repeated over and over again—and reflected on the feeds of the fashion creators whom I always turn to for style ideas. Some shoes echo looks from last year, ones I'm happy to see return, like caged fisherman sandals and the upgraded wedge sandal. Others were slightly more surprising, like velvet, which is rarely seen outside of the winter period.
I'm also someone who is happy to invest in designer sandals and more interesting footwear options if I know I'll wear them for many seasons to come. Yet with Zara, the brand manages to deliver trendy shoes, sleek materials like suede and timeless silhouettes that still leave you with some budget leftover for your summer capsule wardrobe. That's a win in my book.
So, without further ado, these are the five Zara sandal trends you'll want on your shoe rack this spring and summer.
5 Zara Sandal Trends to Shop in 2026
1. Suede Sandals
Style Notes: Suede brings with it a textural and visual softness that its smoother leather counterparts don't always quite have. Whether in a flip-flop style, a mule or a strappy heeled sandal, I think suede is such a perfect material for sandals. (And not just boots and trainers). Zara seems to agree, as this material—both faux and real—has been all over its current spring and summer shoe collections.
The curved heel feels very mod.
Cobalt blue ranks as one of spring's biggest colour trends, and I see why. It's a gorgeous shade that adds depth to your outfit. I love it in sandal form.
I love a mule, and in a spring-ready ice blue, I can't say no.
2. Caged Sandals
Style Notes: Last year saw the return of fisherman sandals, and they're back once again. The caged toe box and woven textures give this style of footwear such a grounded, earthy aesthetic, which is always welcome during summer. But with the right pattern or metallic buckle, they can feel sophisticated too. I adore just how many styles and variations they're available in, each one offering a different vibe.
Black and with a T-bar strap, these will remain classic for many summers to come.
3. Wedges
Style Notes: I'll be honest: When I heard the whisperings last year that wedges were back, I was sceptical. In my mind were the clunky wedges I used to wear back in the 2010s, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how designers rendered a modern-day wedge. They're sleek, fun-shaped and a little nostalgic. It's a great combination, and Zara has so many to choose from.
4. Metal Embellishments
Style Notes: From toe rings to metal clips to pierced details, metal embellishments aren't going anywhere. These serve as jewellery for your shoe and by no means have to be flashy or maximalist (though they can be). There's a loop, buckle, ring and band for everyone, which is why I think this trend is so relevant. It's easy to work into nearly any style type.
A simple, minimalist shoe that I would covet for years, and for under £40.
5. Velvet Sandals
Style Notes: Banish the thought that velvet is strictly beholden to winter festivities. It's making a new name for itself as a warm-weather material now, too. Zara's collection of velvety sandals is proof. From versatile beige velvet to more statement colours like purple and yellow, I'm thoroughly excited to try this trend.
