5 Major Jewelry Trends That Will Define 2026
I recently attended the Couture Jewelry Show in Las Vegas—an event that brings together leading jewelry designers from around the world. It offers a chance to meet with the creatives behind the brands, ranging from established maisons to up-and-coming labels and see their latest collections. I spent two days moving from booth to booth to see the newest designs first-hand. There, I observed some key trends and heard from the designers about the direction the jewelry world is headed in 2026. Plus, the must-have pieces to know before they're everywhere.
One clear insight was the use of colorful gemstones. As designers continue to move away from gold due to the high prices, precious stones are becoming more popular. A sense of utility also imbues many designs, including convertible lariat necklaces that can be worn multiple ways. Another recurring topic in conversation was the attention to craft, which is setting special pieces apart in the fine jewelry space.
Ahead, see the five biggest trends from the 2026 Couture Jewelry Show in Las Vegas, as well as my edit of the best pieces to tap into each one.
Colorful Gemstones
Color was the biggest takeaway from Couture, and lots of it. From sapphire tennis necklaces to rings and bracelets scattered with rubies and emeralds, designers were leaning heavily into every shade of gemstone.
Dome Rings
Bubble-like dome ring shapes were seen as frequently in the new collections as they were on the fingers of the most stylish designers and attendees. In particular, the rings were outfitted with gems ranging from diamonds to colorful precious stones.
Lariat Necklaces
Long lariat necklaces were a running theme within the jewelry show, seen at designers ranging from Pomellato to Mikimoto. As last summer's tassel necklace trend is slowing down, this silhouette is likely to be its replacement.
Yellow Stones
Bring on the color! More sparkling color appeared with yellow diamonds. From citrine to topaz to the rare canary diamond, designers brought a focus to the glowing stones.
