This Dress Trend Will Take Over Your Outfit Rotation
Ready to meet the dress trend that's about to take over your life (in a good way, of course)? We'd like to introduce you to the most popular dress trend of 2018: ruching. Designers clearly took a strong liking to this particular dress detail, sending out a wide variety of frocks adorned with the striking feature. When Miu Miu, Gucci, and Saint Laurent (just to name a few) are all on the same page, that's probably a page we want to be reading too.
So why is this fall dress trend about to transform your outfit rotation for days to come? Because the style looks so good on multiple body types, can easily be dressed up or down, and will make you look like you know a thing or two about fashion. Basically, it's a lot of bang for your buck. The ruching also adds a fun texture to an otherwise plain dress, not to mention the gathering always hits at the right place on your body, hugging you where you want to be hugged so you can feel like your most confident self. A dress that can do all that at once? Yeah, we thought you'd like it.
Ahead, check out some of our favorite ruched dress runway looks and shop a handful of the fall dress trend for yourself.
This dress trend in a floral print is one for the books. We love how Miu Miu styled the look with statement shoes and a casual sweater.
Available in sizes 6 to 14.
Major '80s flashbacks were shown all through the Saint Laurent show, including multiple ruched minidresses. The shoulders and pussy-bow tie are what distinguish this look from the rest.
Half of this look is in the past (yep, the '80s rule again) while the other half (the sunglasses) is in the future. It's all about balance this fall.
While this exact look might not be the most approachable of the bunch, it's really fun to look at—mainly because it reminds us of Rita Skeeter from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Wear a ruched minidress on your next night out and you'll be the best dressed of your friends, hands down.
Next up, check out the $50 outfit Kendall Jenner just wore.
