What kind of sweater or jacket should I wear with a peplum top?
We are simply smitten with the sustaining peplum trend and are eager to update it-for both warmth and style-with a third piece layered on top. There are two different silhouettes you should consider when wearing a peplum top. Must-Try #1: The Short & Shrunken Jacket If you're interested in further emphasizing your waist, look for a jacket that's fitted and cropped. We always love a menswear-influenced blazer, like a tux style in a bright color or something more universal. Cropped biker jackets are also excellent options; look for navy, white, or basic black. A Chanel-inspired jacket can be an amazing option too, whether you go for a boucle tweed or a collarless patent version. Must-Try #2: The Long & Lean Coat If you'd prefer a more formal piece of outerwear, or simply some additional coverage, your other option is a slim, simple coat with a mid-thigh or knee-length hem. Again, a tailored, menswear style is always nice, or perhaps something with contrasting sleeves. Looking for something a little more playful? Try a long and lean coat with a sweet print. Just remember to look for outerwear with a clean silhouette-the minimal design balances the peplum's flirtiness-and a relatively sleek fit and you'll find the perfect mix!
