This LA Designer Makes the Skirt You've Been Searching for

Once again, we have found another follow-worthy brand while scrolling through Instagram. We are proud to introduce @delficollective as our latest insta-crush. According to the brand’s site, "DELFI is a Los Angeles based label designed by two friends. Every item is dreamed up and created under ethical conditions in the city we love and call home.”

Sounds pretty cool already right? Ethically made, founded by friends, and based out of one of the world’s most fashionable cities—seems like this brand could be onto something good.

And as you scroll through the insta feed, you’ll come to agree that it definitely is. With cool, asymmetrical cuts and fun colours, DELFI Collective’s clothes look like works of art in their own right. The thing that really seals the deal, however, is the brand's apparent adoration of pleats. In fact, the label’s name comes from the Delphos Gown which, according to the DELFI Collective’s site, was created in 1907 and revolutionised women’s dresses from the restricted corseted versions of the time.

As if we didn’t love the look already, this historical fun fact makes us want to wear exclusively pleats in rebellion against the mere idea of corsets. While that may be an extreme approach, a DELFI Collective skirt seems like a worthy purchase regardless. In addition to looking like they’d be fun to spin around in, we can also imagine DELFI Collective’s skirts working well with a sweater for an office look, or silk cami for night out.
