I'd Skip Every New Trendy Item in Honor of These 5 Basics
As a fashion editor, I get such a thrill discovering fresh trends. That said, when it comes to my personal wardrobe, my offering tends to skew on the simple side with a hefty assortment of basics. When I do go for it a bit more, it's usually in the form of statement accessories. With all that in mind, I thought I'd bring you a curation of the specific basics I think could be true sartorial heroes in a wardrobe.
If I'm being totally honest, I'd probably skip every new trendy item coming out in honor of the pieces coming your way. I just couldn't give them up and truly think they are the backbone of a modern wardrobe. They're all extremely versatile and could be styled in so many different ways.
Keep scrolling to check out my favorite wardrobe basics right now that I think you'll be into as well. Actually, I bet some are already go-tos for you. If so, there's a bunch of shopping inspiration below if you want to refresh anything.
1. Camel Sweater
A tan or camel sweater is effortlessly chic in my opinion. Whether you tie one around your shoulders or wear it with your favorite jeans, it just feels so elevated.
2. Relaxed White Shirt
A white button-down shirt is classic. Over the last few seasons, the oversize silhouettes have become staples in many wardrobes.
3. Black Blazer
That trusty blazer will always be a go-to. I believe it's one of the most versatile pieces you can own because you can dress it up or down, like with this look featuring jeans and sneakers.
4. Black Jeans
Yes, blue jeans are always front-runners, but I also love black jeans in a straight-leg or skinny fit because I think they're quite sleek.
5. Relaxed Cardigan
One more sweater I rely on is a loose cardigan to take any simple look to the next level.
Next, check out more basics to consider.
