As a beauty editor, I often get asked what my favourite part of my job is. Although there are so many things I could say, one thing I love more than anything else is getting to write about fragrances daily. I've been obsessed with trying the best perfumes for as long as I can remember, as there's something so transformative about wearing a new scent. Even if I've had a bad day, one spritz of my most-complimented fragrance has the power to make me feel a little bit better.
With summer in full swing, lots of brands are launching perfumes that are perfect for August and beyond. I don't know about you, but I love switching out my heady winter scents for fruity, floral, clean-smelling fragrances at this time of year. My inbox is nearly full of press releases, and my desk is overflowing with samples, so I've been spending the last week sorting through everything and selecting the standout fragrance launches from the past few weeks.

If you know me, you'll know I'm a big fan of Beauty Pie perfumes. In my opinion, they smell super expensive without breaking the bank, and their chic scent selection always earns me compliments. New from the brand is Stole the Morning, a fresh, fruity, herbaceous delight that smells like a summery English garden on the skin. It's so uplifting that I've been reaching for it every morning since getting my hands on it.
2. Byredo Future Memories

Byredo has created the perfect transitional perfume to see you from summer to autumn. Future Memories is one of the most intoxicating scents I've come across all year, and trust me, I've tried a lot. At first, the labdanum envelops you in a rich, warm, smoky cloud, before hints of orange blossom and vanilla slowly unfurl. Plus, aldehydes and musk add that comforting, skin-like element that the brand does so well. All in all, it's a work of art.
3. Abel Double Scoop
Key notes: Rosemary, toasted black sesame, butterscotch, vanilla, musk
Gourmand fragrance lovers, rejoice. There's a new scent to sink your teeth into this summer, and it's an absolute delight. As the name suggests, this perfume is inspired by smooth vanilla ice cream, with notes of butterscotch and vanilla reminding me of my favourite summer dessert. That being said, this scent is elevated by notes of rosemary, toasted black sesame and musk, making it feel fun yet sophisticated, which is no mean feat.

You all know how much the team at Who What Wear UK loves the original Escentric Molecules perfume, but this new launch might take the top spot for me. The addition of clary sage makes it smell incredibly fresh and herbaceous, and I've had so many compliments since wearing it.

This is one of the most beautiful perfumes I've come across this month, and for just £35, it smells so expensive. Juicy pear is grounded by notes of sea salt and musk, creating a soft, seaside scent that immediately transports you to a summer escape.

A new take on the iconic Burberry Her perfume, this scent contains sweet, rich notes of cherry, amber and vanilla. It feels like a super sophisticated gourmand fragrance, perfect for a summer date night or drinks with friends.

Whilst the opening is incredibly sweet, the base notes of tonka bean and amber add a smooth, sultry touch.
10. Dior J'adore Intense

Both my mum and I constantly wear Dior's J'adore perfume, and I know this intense iteration will become our new go-to for the season ahead. Created by Francis Kurkdjian, the warming aroma cocoons the senses with a comforting base of sandalwood and musk. To me, wearing this feels like bathing in that first bit of sunlight, and spritzing it is like enveloping my skin in all that golden goodness.

What I love about this new Bvlgari scent is that it was actually created by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier in 2017 for the amenities at the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts. However, it was so popular that the brand has now created a perfume that you can take with you wherever you go. It's beautifully rich yet light, with uplifting citrus notes that make it perfect for this time of year.
