The One Jacket Style That Will Make Any Outfit Look 10 Times Cooler
The leopard-print coat is one of those wardrobe pieces that fully deserves the accolade of being a timeless purchase. From Pat Butcher's retro outwear to the rock 'n' roll vibes of Kate Moss's noughties uniform, this is a look that has entrenched itself within the bedrock of British pop culture. While there are plenty of classic long-line styles to sate your appetite, I've noticed that there's also been a new generation of leopard-print pieces making its way onto our favourite feeds this season.
Style Notes: Faux-fur leopard jackets are a great middle-ground between the classic coats and the new-gen looks. Make like Ada and style yours with checked trousers.
Statement-making yet versatile, the leopard-print jacket brings a totally different personality to the table in comparison to the leopard coat. From denim styles and shackets to blazers and boxy looks, these are ideal for this in-between time of year when a coat can feel like too much of a commitment. Thanks to their shorter length, these looks will also not dominate your outfit, so they are perfect for print clashing or adding interest to minimalist separates.
Personally, I love the leopard jacket's ability to make any outfit look instantly cool. You can literally throw it over a plain white tee, pair of old jeans and Converse and, voilà, you've nailed Kate Moss levels of cool-girl styling. & Other Stories' belted jacket is ideal for this weekend-ready, casual spin on the trend, but I also like the idea of the more prim and proper button-up styles (see the Dolce number below), which would pair nicely with tailored trousers and heels for Friday night cocktails. Style Notes: Erica shows us how to work the leopard-print shacket. It makes her black trousers and roll-neck pairing look 10 times cooler.
