The 20 High-Street Buys Our Editors Are Willing to Fight Over
If it isn't abundantly obvious, the editors at Who What Wear love to shop, and there's a particular joy that comes with each of us possessing our own unique approach to personal style. From Emma's love of midi dresses to Hannah's penchant for shoes, our office is a veritable melting pot of tastes and obsessions. However, every once in a while, there are certain pieces that meet in the middle of our fashion Venn diagram—fulfilling all our needs and flattering all body shapes.
More often than not, these pieces are from the high street, undoubtedly due to the fact that the moment one of our fave stores releases an affordable gem, we're all onto it. Recent winners include Topshop's mesh dress, Zara's organza blouse and COS's painted jersey top—all united by unusual fabrics and silhouettes or universally flattering fits.
Because we love to be ahead of the game, we asked our editors to pick out four high-street pieces that they're coveting right now—aka items that will be a hit in the office in a month or two. From Uterqüe's chic accessories and Arket's leather separates to spring-ready dresses and pastel blouses, scroll down to see the 20 pieces our editors are going to be fighting over this spring.
Hannah Almassi, Who What Wear Editor in Chief
"I'm in the market for nice tops at the moment, and this lovely sage-coloured one ticks a lot of boxes with its exaggerated sleeves and adjustable ruching. Good for those with boobs (me) and those without."
"The historical stats around my own wardrobe would show that I always get a great deal of wear out of tan shoes! Therefore, these beauties are a logical, strategic and highly sensible purchase to make."
"Unlike some affordable stores that shall remain nameless, I feel that Warehouse is true to size and the fit is good on my figure, so I often buy dresses there, but this one really does look so rich."
"Like I said before, I'm on a mission to locate tops, and here, the pale-yellow colour, jaunty necktie and silky finish are all working hard."
Emma Spedding, Who What Wear Deputy Editor
"These keep coming in and out of stock, and I'm determined to get a pair in my size."
"Joy in my team has this—and I now want to copy her because this is just so good."
"I never thought I'd be a leather-shirt person, but I want to wear this with straight-leg jeans and strappy sandals."
"I'm really into the all-beige trend right now, and these are perfect."
Joy Montgomery, Who What Wear Acting Assistant Editor
I've seen so many people wearing this Zara blouse, but that hasn't put me off one bit. I'll be wearing it with white jeans come spring.

I'm a sucker for Western-inspired boots, and this & Other Stories pair seriously stands out with its silver hue and cutout detailing.
This COS frock is the perfect balance of statement silhouette and minimalistic.
I'm having a bit of a love affair with pastel at the moment, and this pink blazer avoids looking too twee thanks to its tailored finish.
Mica Ricketts, Who What Wear Beauty Deputy Editor
"If spring isn't quite ready to arrive, I'll bring the sunshine season to my wardrobe instead with this marigold yellow dress. I'll wear it with white trainers now and then strappy heels come wedding season."
"Shells are everywhere right now. These earrings allow me to embrace my love of gold hoops along with a nod to this nautical trend."
"I'm on a seemingly never-ending hunt to find the perfect pair of white jeans. I love the super-high-waisted fit and seam detailing on this Weekday pair."
"I spotted this Topshop bag amongst the accessories in Who What Wear fashion cupboard and immediately fell for it. The shape, the colour, the crossbody strap… this bag has it all."
Alyss Bowen, Who What Wear Social Media Editor
"I love everything about this red floral mini and know it's one of those dresses I'll wear time and time again come springtime. Plus, it would look great with tights, boots and a leather jacket in the colder months."
"I've had a boilersuit on my wishlist for a while, and this cotton Topshop one is perfect. I'd team it with Superga trainers and a trench."
"This blue shirtdress reminds me of a Marina London dress but at a much more affordable price point. The colour is amazing on, and I'm so into the waist-tie detailing."
"I saw a girl wearing these in central London on the weekend and had to run after her to ask where they were from. Anything wide leg and cord is a winner in my eyes, and this green colour is so on trend right now."
