I've Tried Hundreds of Amazon Beauty Items—Here Are My 3 Unequivocal Favorites
I always say that shopping on Amazon is a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because you have so many choices and can get pretty much anything delivered to your door in a matter of days—even hours. It's a curse because, well, you have so many choices and it can be difficult to sort through them all, check reviews, and decide whether or not they're worth your time and money.
Luckily, as a beauty editor, I've tested countless skincare, hair, and makeup products on the site, and I can tell you which ones are good, great, and truly exceptional. That's the case with three underrated Amazon beauty products that I tell literally everyone in my life to buy. From a crazy-effective lash serum to a foolproof heatless curler set and a TikTok-viral collagen mask, keep scrolling to see my three unequivocal favorite Amazon beauty products.
#1: A Crazy-Effective French Lash Serum
First, I have to talk about my all-time favorite lash serum. It's from the French brand Talika, and while I've already waxed poetic about it (read my full review), it's worth doing again. It's been around since 1948. Since then, researchers have optimized the formula by encapsulating its plant extracts, which include witch hazel, apple, nettle, horse chestnut, and Saint-John's-wort, in liposomes to increase their penetration.
Alongside the plant extracts, you'll find peptides to reinforce the root of the lashes and slow loss. There are silk proteins to "sheath" the lashes and encourage them to curl. And there is coleus forskohlii, a tropical plant extract that the brand says can boost the natural pigmentation of the lashes by increasing melanin production.
The brand recommends using it morning and night for 28 days, repeating the cycle every three months for best results. Whenever I use this, I can see a visible improvement in the length, density, and darkness of my lashes within just a few weeks. I usually order it on Amazon, but I was able to pick up a few tubes from a French pharmacy when I was visiting Paris in the spring.
The brow serum is just as good. If you have sparse brows, you need to try it.
#2: A Foolproof Heatless Curler Set
I've tried so many heatless curler sets in my lifetime, and I've never been totally satisfied with the outcome. Either my curls look crimped and asymmetrical or they fall out in the middle of the night, and I wake up with flat hair. That is until I tried this budget-friendly one on Amazon.
My biggest issue with other heatless curler sets is that the actual curling rod is usually thick, inflexible, and made of silky fabric. While I've had some success with these types, they usually fall out of my hair well before morning. (I have fine hair, and I tend to toss and turn at night.) This one, on the other hand, has a flexible, velvety fabric that keeps my hair from slipping out of place. It also has long, fabric-covered ends that you can tie up at the top of your head to prevent it from budging throughout the night. By morning, I have the prettiest, most uniform heatless curls.
The kit comes with one curling headband, a large claw clip (to secure it to the top of your head while you wrap your hair around the headband), two hair ties (to tie your ends to the headband once you're done wrapping your hair around it), a spray bottle (to dampen your hair), and an instruction sheet. It's truly foolproof in my opinion.
#3: A TikTok-Viral Collagen Mask
You might have seen this mask on Instagram and TikTok, where it's gone viral many times. (Check out one of my favorite TikToks here.) Wear it for three to four hours or, even better, overnight, and your skin will be GLOWING. I'm talking about the glass skin, glazed-donut, no-highlighter-necessary kind of glowing. Thanks to collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and galactomyces (a good-for-skin fungus), it targets everything from dryness to dullness, loss of firmness, and enlarged pores. It really is *that girl,* *the moment,* *an icon.* That's why I always keep a small stockpile in my bathroom cabinet, lest it sells out again.
10 More Amazon Beauty Products I Like
I love using scalp massagers in the shower while washing my hair to boost circulation and improve hair growth and density. It's such an easy yet effective way to boost your haircare routine.
Another TikTok-viral product, this snail mucin essence makes my skin glow.
Another French pharmacy product I'm obsessed with, this multipurpose oil can be used to hydrated the face, body, and hair. Plus, it smells simply incredible.
This French lip balm is thick and rich. It keeps moisture locked in and makes my lips look so smooth and soft. I keep a jar of it in my bag at all times.
I use these in one of two ways. First, I'll use them as toning cloths to swipe toner across my skin and get a gentle exfoliating action in. Second, I'll soak them in my hydrating toner of choice and stretch them out across my skin almost like a DIY sheet mask to lock in hydration. They're a great, inexpensive skincare tool.
Another French icon is this soothing moisturizer that does double (or triple) duty. It can also be used as a makeup primer and moisturizing mask.
This vitamin C cream is so refreshing on my dry, irritated skin. Plus it brightens it up.
As an avid coffee drinker, I rely on these whitening strips to keep my smile bright.
If you haven't tried this K-beauty sunscreen yet, this is your sign. It's lightweight, hydrating, and never leaves a white cast. It's almost too good to be true.
The Shark Beauty Flexstyle can achieve pretty much every hairstyle you can think of. Plus, it's super easy to use thanks to interchangeable styling attachments.
