What Victoria Beckham Really Thinks About the Spice Girls Reunion

Erin Fitzpatrick

By now you've probably heard the news that three of the original members of the Spice Girls—Geri Halliwell, Mel B, and Emma Bunton—are reuniting under a new name, GEM. For fans of the iconic '90s group, this is definitely exciting, but Victoria Beckham will surely be missed in the new incarnation. So what are her thoughts on the news? Beckham chatted about the subject in a new interview with The Sunday Times

"Do you wish them all the luck in the world?" Beckham was asked by a reporter for The Sunday Times. "Of course, as a new group, I do," she told the newspaper. "I do think they should sing new material, though, because what we did as the Spice Girls was so special."

She also talked about the Spice Girls elsewhere in the interview, explaining that the band gave her important life lessons. "I don't believe in luck—I think I've worked hard for everything I've achieved," she told the newspaper. "I think I learnt a lot from being in the Spice Girls, most importantly how you can have everything one minute and then lose it the next, and becoming successful isn't as difficult as sustaining success." Wise words, indeed.
