I'm a Nordstrom-Obsessed Fashion Editor—These Are the Items I'm Ordering RN
While I consider myself an expert shopper (it is basically my job after all), shopping at Nordstrom, in particular, is my forte. It's not something you master overnight, but once you get the hang of filtering through all the SKUs and zero in on the brands that are your favorites, finding exciting fashion gems starts to become second nature. One brand I often find myself repeatedly hitting up Nordstrom for happens to be our in-house collection of accessories.
In preparation for fall, a brand-new lineup of Who What Wear shoes has hit the retailer, and dare I say, they're better than ever. There's a little something for everyone in the assortment, from soft-as-a-cloud shearling flats to stylish tall boots you can actually walk in. Also in the mix are cool flats that are downright pretty. Not that I need a real reason to shop online anyway, but each style is pretty affordable as well, which sweetens the deal. My cart is already full at this point, so keep scrolling to see everything I'm clicking the buy button for right now.
As a recent L.A. transplant, I'm taking full advantage of the warmer fall season, which means I'll be wearing sandals and tanks until the wheels fall off. These gorp-y sandals somehow feel appropriate for the transitional weather without being too covered up.
Ally Sandal
Once it gets cooler, I plan on styling the shearling version with some fun graphic socks.
Ella Mule
Mules reign supreme when it comes to late summer/early fall days, and these are delightfully versatile.
Poppy Flat
Being an L.A. person now, there's still a bit of time before jumping into a pair of boots becomes the norm. While I wait it out for the inevitable, I'm heavily leaning into loafers.
Cate Knee High Boot
When boot weather decides to make an appearance, I'll be ready in these tall beauties. If you tend to walk everywhere like me, a kitten heel like this is a godsend for your feet.
Raya Bootie
When you are in for a long day on your feet, flat boots like this are practical yet elevated. Wear them with jeans for a casual vibe or with a tailored suit.
Christina Bootie
As a forever fan of stacked heeled booties, these immediately caught my eye. These in black are a solid foundational piece for a capsule fall wardrobe.
If office life is in your future (or is already your reality), you'll want to take note of these heeled mules. They're dressy enough to be work shoes, yet they're not so over-the-top that they're difficult to walk in.
Kayla Mule
It's possible to get more use out of your mules: simply add cool socks or tights.
Jaclyn Platform Bootie
To likely no one's surprise, combat boots are on my priority checklist of fall essentials. While I love my Doc Marten Jadon boots, these have a slicker, more streamlined look that I love for skirts and dresses.
Millie Flat
And of course, minimal flats like these are highly necessary for the fall. Chocolate brown has been trending for a minute, and it's an equally sophisticated alternative to black.

While going to school at Columbia University in New York City, she got her feet wet in the fashion industry interning at Elle magazine, Harper's Bazaar, and New York magazine's The Cut. After graduating in 2016, she joined The Cut as a fashion assistant, eventually working her way up to fashion editor. There, she worked on a multitude of projects, including styling inbook feature stories for New York magazine's print issue, writing and pitching market stories for The Cut, and serving as fashion lead for The Cut's branded content. While New York has been her home for over 10 years, she moved to Los Angeles in the midst of the pandemic in 2020 for a new chapter. Now she is a fashion market editor for Who What Wear, focusing on emerging designers, rising trends on and off the internet, interior design, and BIPOC creatives and brands. Aside from her duties as a fashion market editor, Brown is also a freelance stylist and writer, working on national print and video commercial campaigns for Sephora, The Independent, and Cadillac. Her bylines also include Harper's Bazaar, Vox, and The New York Times. But once the computer goes down and the emails turn off, she's likely eating her way through Koreatown, hunting down vintage furniture, scoping out new outrageous nail designs to try, or taking a hot cycling class.
