A Lesson in the Victorian Trend, From the Streets of Paris
The Victorian trend is a challenging one, but it’s going to be big for autumn, so it’s worth wrapping your head around it now. Ruffles, high necklines, velvet, and intricate lace detailing popped up all over the A/W 15 runways (you can thank Givenchy), and now the trend has made its way onto the street.
Australian Instagrammer and actress Sarah Ellen, was spotted at Paris Fashion Week today in the trend. Sarah showed us how to mix eras and make the trend modern by paring a ruffled high-neck top and detailed jacket with ’70s flares and a cross body bag. So what can we learn? With this trend, anything goes. Have fun with it, and mix and match until you feel comfortable. You might prefer to team a high-neck top with a pencil skirt, or go all out like Sarah Ellen.
