Skinny Jeans Are Out, Trash-Bag Pants Are In—28 Pairs That Will Convince You
We're back again to report on yet another pant trend we're recommending in place of skinny jeans. From puddle pants to relaxed denim, the current trend cycle has proven that when it comes to your pants, the baggier the better. Up next on the chopping block is a trend we spotted just a few months ago: trash bag pants (or parachute pants, whatever you want to call them).
Celebs and influencers have recently stepped out in loose, often drawstring pants that are primarily lightweight and nylon or cotton in material. Due to the swishy (sometimes loud) noise and cinched waistbands, the style is so clearly giving "trash bag," and that's a fact. Usually worn super low-slung as pictured above, these comfortable pants have already been spotted as the summer pant choice whether you're heading to the beach or for a casual lunch with friends.
While I certainly don't think skinny jeans are going to be on the decline forever, for now, I am happy to report that I am embracing pants even as gutsy as trash bag pants for the time being. As someone who loves roomy trousers, the reintroduction of this trend has my heart, and I plan on dipping my toe into it… while it lasts. Ahead, shop 28 pairs of the best trash bag pants on the market. From designer finds to affordable must-haves, this selection of pants is definitely worth scrolling through in case you aren't fully convinced of the style.
These are definitely goals.
These pants are so lightweight that you'll feel like you're barely wearing anything.
It's not every day I participate in ordering items preorder, but these pants are well worth it.
