Who What Wear is turning 10 this year! To celebrate our #WWW10 milestone, we’re bringing back WWW TV, with new style videos just for you.
It’s never our intention to purchase something knowing we’ll only wear it a handful of times. We like to get the most mileage out of our closet—and yes, that includes wearing a “summer” item even when it’s fall. You know what we’re talking about—taking the tank top or pair of cropped trousers you loved wearing all summer long and making them work even as the temperatures start dropping.
To showcase how we style our favorite warm-weather items when it gets cooler outside, we challenged three of our editors to take five seconds to search through our fashion closet and find the one piece that will transition their summer wardrobe (a sleeveless dress, crop top, and skirt) into fall.
Keep scrolling to watch our video and learn how to get the absolute most out of your closet. Plus, go a bit further to shop each of the transitional looks featured.
If you’re looking to get more mileage out of the sleeveless dress you’ve been wearing all summer long, pair a slim turtleneck underneath to keep wearing it through fall.
It’s easy to pull off a crop top in September and October. Rather than wearing it by itself, simply add a button-down underneath for a forward yet appropriate look.
While you could totally wear a skirt as is with a pair of knee-high boots come fall, we love the idea of pairing your favorite style with a skinny pair of trousers for a very modern, cool vibe.
What are your tricks for transitioning your summer clothes into fall? Let us know in the comments below.
