Years Later, Toteme's Scarf Jacket Is Still Just Relevant and Chic As It Ever Was

For an elevated look, try pairing it with tailored trousers and sandals.

Last year, I spent more time than I’m willing to admit thinking about Toteme’s draped fringed wool jacket. You know the one—the versatile cover-up with the slightly oversize silhouette, contrast whip-stitched edging and chic, built-in scarf. The one snapped up by so many stylish types, including Monikh Dale, Anouk Yve, and Jessica Skye.

For months, I deliberated about purchasing it for myself. Initially, I wanted to analyse how much wear I would get out of it—I don’t buy anything unless I can picture myself wearing it constantly. Once I had confirmed that it would work well with my existing wardrobe, then I had to consider which chic colour to opt for—classic black, biscuity-beige, grey or perhaps the on-trend chocolate brown

Unfortunately my indecisiveness made me pause a moment too long—of course, by the time I went to add it to basket it was sold out again. It was a blow, and I spent the next few months getting over the fact there was a Toteme-shaped hole in my wardrobe. You'll be pleased to know my moment finally came when the brand obviously realised how in-demand the coats were and re-released it. I snatched one up immediately (I went for the original dark one if you were wondering), but I know not everyone was so lucky.

The grey style is so versatile.

With crips spring days rolling around once again, however, I bring good news—far from being discontinued (something I love about Toteme—their winning classics are always re-released so never not on-trend), the cult classic scarf coat is back for another year.

Second chances are rare (and third chances are even rarer) so when they present themselves, you shouldn’t let them pass you by. Just look at Ben and Jennifer. If you too fell for this jacket over the last few years but missed out, consider this your sign to gift yourself as we head into the new season. Scroll on to see and shop the jacket, and there's also a whole host of styling inspiration below, too—you're welcome.
