The Fall Trends Our Editors Will Be Wearing to Thanksgiving
Let’s face it—Thanksgiving is approaching at a quicker pace than any of us could have anticipated. Before you know it, you’ll be on your way to the airport or hopping into a car en route to your families and friends for dinner. In the flurry of packing for the busy weekend, it’s easy to forgo the best fall trends for the most comfortable options. After all, you could be spending hours traveling to your destination. But there’s another way.
While not every trend of the moment is feasible for a day filled with family affairs and, of course, eating, there are a few that will work no matter the setting. In fact, there are some that our very own Who What Wear editors will be packing as they head to their respective Thanksgiving dinners. Traveling everywhere cold and warm and enjoying both casual and formal dinners, see the trends our editors are loving for the holiday.
Kat Collings, Editor in Chief
“Zebra! This cozy sweater iteration of the trend is a fun way to wear a standout trend that’s still appropriate for a Thanksgiving setting.”
Allyson Payer, Editor
“I love the cozy, polished look that a corduroy blazer provides and think it’s the perfect thing to wear over a dress or with jeans and ankle boots on Thanksgiving.”
Nicole Eshaghpour, Market Editor
“My Thanksgiving outfit usually revolves around comfort, so I’ll be wearing my favorite jeans and sweater but adding Western boots in honor of my favorite trend of the season.”
Erin Fitzpatrick, Senior News Editor
Living in L.A., I get ridiculously excited when the weather starts to cool down because I can bust out my favorite chunky sweaters. Uniqlo always makes the best affordable versions.
Michelle Scanga, Managing Editor
“I’ll be heading home to Kansas for Thanksgiving, so I’m looking forward to layering up in bright knit sweaters like the one below. I’m also into the idea of styling it with chandelier-style earrings to dress up the look.”
Gina Marinelli, Senior Editor
Lauren Eggertsen, Fashion Editor
“I’m going back home to California for Thanksgiving, so I’m excited to soak in some last-minute rays of sunshine but still want to dress on trend for fall. This leopard Ganni top will do just the trick.”
Kristen Nichols, Associate Editor
“Thanksgiving is the perfect occasion to slip into a comfy sweater, and I’m loving this version from Khaite. It has sculptural sleeves and a romantic neckline—bringing just the right amount of fashion to the holiday.”
Anna LaPlaca, Assistant Editor
"My family has a tradition of getting a bit dressed up and having a formal Thanksgiving dinner, so my compromise between this and straight-up wearing sweats comes in the form of an easygoing floral dress and leather boots.”
