I'm a Fashion Editor—Here's Every Spring Trend I'm Tapping Into This Season

Whenever a new season approaches, there are a variety of trends thrown onto the scene for the fashion set to choose from. This spring season is no different, from saturated shades to twee style, there are a whole lot of options. Luckily for you, my work hours are spent researching trends and the current market so I was easily able to narrow down my list and pick out the five trends that stand out to me the most. Not only did I do that, but I also shopped each trend out from our Who What Wear x Target collection, so won't have to break the bank on your seasonal wardrobe refresh.

Keep scrolling for the five trends I'm actually going to be wearing this spring, editor-approved shoppable picks, and outfit ideas to give you so much-needed inspiration.

1. Quilted Jackets

There are still some chilly days during the spring season, and quilted jackets will be my outerwear of choice. Opt for one in a fun color so it'll be easy to pair with basics and still stand out.

2. Cargo Pants

I don't think I'd go full-on Kim Possible with cargo pants, but I think there is a way to style them in a chic way for spring. I love how the trend adds a relaxed but cool touch to any look.

3. Saturated Shades

I'll take all the bright colors, please. From Kelly green to bubblegum Pink, saturated shades will be my top pick among the S/S 22 trend list.

4. Twee-Style Tops

While I was never one for twee-style pieces when the trend first began, I think I'm ready to incorporate some element of the trend with its revival.

5. Maxi Hemlines

Maxi hemlines were seen all over the spring and even fall 2022 runways, and as a modest dresser, I'm thoroughly happy.

After interning at Who What Wear in 2019, she found her way to the team after graduating from LIM College in 2022 with a fashion media degree. She's also spent time writing and working for publications such as Fashionista, Coveteur, and Nylon, but she always knew that Who What Wear was where she was meant to be. When she's on the job, she's perusing runway shows, analyzing the latest thing fellow Gen Zers are up to on the internet, and sharing what she can about the modest-fashion market. You can also catch her dabbling in entertainment, talking about the costume choices of the latest Netflix series or diving deeper into how the plotline affects the viewers in a myriad of ways. Lastly, she likes to create content for Who What Wear's TikTok. Her personal time is spent doing similar but also different things—deep diving into almost every new TV show (Bridgerton, Gilmore Girls, and Stranger Things are favorites), planning her next local getaway (whenever that may be), and reading the latest Emily Henry or Sally Rooney novel in one sitting.
