Nordstrom Is a Gold Mine for Summer Trends—Let's Take a Dive
If anyone were to ask me for my favorite places to shop, Nordstrom would easily be in my top three. The breadth and depth of designers, trends, and sizes are unparalleled, but of course, what I love most are the sales. The retailer's extensive sale events are legendary. In fact, one happens to be kicking off this week. Its Half-Yearly Sale just launched with thousands of items marked up to 50% off up for grabs.
Right now, my mind is in a state of constantly thinking about summer trends. From those padded-shoulder tees that were everywhere to naked sandals and more, I'm focused on building out my summer wardrobe to incorporate the pieces that matter. As to not let this glorious discount opportunity pass, I scanned through pages and pages of Nordstrom's markdowns to find the summer items that have dominated the season thus far. Let's just say I uncovered a lot of gems you won't want to miss. Whether you're into cult designer brands or have a strict budget of $100, read ahead to see all of the summer trends you can shop on discount right now.
Padded Shoulders
There are regular basics, and then there are trendy basics. Padded-shoulder tees sort of emerged out of the blue earlier this year and have steadily gained traction, becoming a full-fledged trend. It's like a design remix of a basic tank T-shirt, so it's easy enough to style with all of your jeans or sweats.

Cool Cutouts
Here's a trend that speaks for itself. Cutouts have littered every brand and label this summer, so it's no surprise that we're anxious to add them to our closets. From tanks to dresses and tees, Nordstrom has an endless selection to chose from.

Baggy Pants
As a member of the anti-skinny jeans committee, few things brought me more joy this season than witnessing the resurgence of baggy pants. Fashion It girls have particularly gravitated toward this trend like nobody's business, styling them with crop tops and cutout bodysuits.

Minimalist Kitten-Heel Sandals
Admittedly, I don't need another pair of naked sandals, but hear me out. They're the most versatile style of shoes I own, so you already know I highly endorse them! There are so many affordable versions on the market that it's possible to score a great pair for under $100. Nordstrom even has several designer sandals marked down at excellent prices.

Retro Florals
Sixties- and '70s-inspired floral prints have been on our radar as a trend to watch for some time now. Yes, it's a throwback to decades past, but the way it's been reinterpreted this season feels supremely fresh. Since one can never have too many summer dresses, I picked out a selection of them in the groovy, fun print.

Bubblegum Pink
A shade that really took hold this year is none other than bubblegum pink. If you're a neutral fanatic, this one may give you some pause, but trust us—it's actually easy to style and pull off.

Ruching
To give some textural pizazz to my looks, I'm adding ruched pieces to my summer wardrobe wish list. Although a quieter trend, when paired with a simple skirt or accessories, it can really make an outfit sing. The below cami from 4th & Reckless is already in my cart.
