5 Spring Denim Outfits Fashion People Just Convinced Me to Try
If you scroll through the spring denim outfits I've posted on Instagram lately, you'll see immediately that I'm a true-blue girl at heart. Undoubtedly, there's at least a 50% chance on any given day that I put on a pair of jeans, but when you're wearing the same thing day after day, it's easy to slip into rote territory. What once was effortless is now simply comfy, and I don't want to be bored when I get dressed in the morning.
In need of an infusion of creativity, I did a bit of research to discover fresh ways to throw on my baby blues. I honed in on five outfits that experiment with new silhouettes—e.g., denim maxis and overalls—and different ways to make my favorite pairs of jeans feel more outfit-worthy and less like an afterthought. Styled with a coordinated denim shirt or dressed up with heels and a sleek jacket, these ensembles work for my casual weekend coffee outings and weeknight work dinners. I don't want to call any of these looks trendy since I think they're all fairly timeless, but I'm known to throw in a little something fun to make them of-the-moment, like cool sneakers or statement sunglasses. Sometimes, those finishing flourishes make all the difference. With these five outfits in my arsenal, I promise to never find myself bored with denim again.
Overalls are an unexpectedly fresh denim option to try instead of your usual jeans. Though they tend to skew more casual, you can add a tailored jacket to dress them up.
This jacket will help you transition from winter to spring.
A little bit of spring color can transform a look. Dark jeans and a playful jacket are a dressy yet fun combination. The look is professional but doesn't just have to be relegated to the office.
Break out your white button-down and try styling it with a coordinated white denim skirt. The look is streamlined, but breaking it up with a belt and cool bag makes it feel fresh.
Shorts don't always have to be a casual staple reserved for a park picnic or trip to the beach. Try dressing them up with accessories that add an elevated touch.
You don't have to feel like a cowgirl in denim on denim. Try styling your jeans with sporty and sleek accessories to give your look a more modern, on-trend feel. Finish with a designer bag if you want to really make a splash.
