Solange Just Dropped Two Stylish New Music Videos

On Friday, Solange dropped her highly-anticipated album, A Seat at the Table, which she described in a press release as "a project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief, and healing." Since this was her first album release since 2012, it's safe to say her fans were ecstatic to hear new music from the singer. (Including her sister Beyoncé, who posted a congratulatory Instagram.) If you've had the songs on repeat for the last several days, we have good news: Solange has just released two beautiful music videos to accompany the album.

Solange took to Instagram to announce the videos, writing about how excited she was to share the visuals she created with her husband Alan Ferguson. "We put soooo much love into these and I hope they make you proud," she captioned the photo.

In addition to being visually stunning, the videos reflect Solange's artful personal style. The videos' art director, Carlota Guerrero, shed some light on the backstory behind one of the most memorable looks: the intertwined purple dresses, which she says were inspired by Issey Miyake and were created by Solange's mother Tina Lawson in just two days. Press play on the videos below to see the amazing works of art for yourself.

Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
