I Found a $9 Dupe for the Viral Dior Lip Glow Oil (You're Welcome)
TikTok has spoken. Lip oil is the trendiest makeup-skincare hybrid of the moment. I get it because I love lip oil too. It simultaneously moisturizes like a heavy-duty balm, makes my lips drip with a glossy sheen, and even accentuates them with a sheer wash of color. What's not to love?
One of the most popular and recognizable lip oils on the market is Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil ($40). Yes, it's made the rounds on TikTok and Instagram, but it was a winning product well before that. It's all thanks to its balmy texture that's neither too sticky nor too greasy and its moisturizing formula packed with cherry oil to soften and protect the lips. As I said, it's a winner. That's why I currently have five of them in my bathroom drawer.
The only thing I don't love about this iconic lip oil is the price. At $40, it's not exactly the most affordable product on the planet. Sure, it lasts a long time, meaning I could view it as an investment. But still… $40 is a lot. So while I think the Dior Lip Glow Oil is worth it, and I'll continue to use it, I'm also interested in finding more affordable alternatives to soften the blow on my bank account.
Well, I've looked far and wide, and let me tell you, not all lip oils are the same. Some are thick, goopy, and sticky. Some aren't as moisturizing as I would like. Some don't provide the sheer wash of color I crave. However, there's one that I think hits all the marks. It comes from a little-known beauty brand that's on a mission to modernize classic French staples, including (wait for it) lip oil. Not only is it affordable—it's only $9—but it's also smooth and silky, hydrating, and perfectly tinted. Keep scrolling to see all the proof you need.

Here it is—the $9 lip oil I found to be a good dupe for luxury versions. Each of these lip oils is made with plum oil to moisturize the lips, apricot oil to soften and smooth, and pomegranate extract to protect with antioxidants. Together, these hero ingredients create a formula with zero thickness or stickiness. Instead, it feels silky and slippery, like any good lip oil should. Not only that, but it deposits just the right amount of shine and sheer color. The result is a plump and juicy-looking pout.
The first shade, Pink Rosé, is a true rosy pink color. It looks like it would deposit a lot of pigment when in the tube, but once it's on the lips, you only see a sheer wash of color, which is just what I like. I think it's a good match for the classic Dior Lip Glow Oil in Pink.

This shimmery golden one was my absolute favorite. Even though it reads yellow in the tube, it applies transparently on the lips, much like the Dior Lip Glow Oil in Clear. It made my lips look plump and glossy with one swipe. Plus, the finely milled shimmer particles reflected light beautifully. Honestly, this one was like a real-life Instagram filter for my lips.

This shade is a true peach with orange undertones, similar to Dior Lip Glow Oil in Coral. I think it's the perfect summer color, as it deposits just enough pigment to make my lips pop while feeling smooth and moisturized, of course. It was my second favorite out of them all, and I know I'll be keeping this close at hand during the warm months to come.

If Dior Lip Glow Oil in Mahogany is your vibe, you'll love Plum Merlot. It's a similar deep brown-purple color. I love how it looks in the tube, but I have to admit it was my least favorite shade once it was on my lips. I think it's because I'm so fair and prone to redness that it almost contrasted with my undertone and masked my lips rather than accentuating them. Still, this could be a go-to shade for fall and winter when I crave a deeper lip color. I also think it would look incredible on anyone with a deeper or more olive skin tone.
In my opinion, there are a couple of downsides to this affordable Dior dupe. The first is that the packaging doesn't feel quite as luxurious, but that's to be expected considering the price difference. The second is that the shade range is limited compared to the Dior lip oil. While the Dior lip oil comes in eight shades, Provence Beauty offers half that. Still, the shades are gorgeous, and the formula is A+.

I only recently tried this one, and it was love at first swipe. The honey-infused formula hydrates and soothes my lips in a single swipe. I'm obsessed.
I love that this lip oil contains hyaluronic acid, peptides, and evening primrose oil. I also love its silky and glossy texture. While all the shades are worth mentioning, I'm partial to this nude one, called Jellyfish.
This one isn't tinted, but the glossy sheen it gives and the blend of jojoba, camellia, sesame, and sunflower seed oils it offers make up for that.
I love this vibrant pink shade of Clarins lip oil. It makes my lips look plump and juicy when it's on its own and when it's layered over pink lipstick.
The lip oils from Ami Colé deserve more credit. They check all the boxes, making my lips feel great and look glossy.
Another lip oil I love, this one has a high-shine finish that gives new meaning to the word 'glaze.' If you want the glossiest finish you can get, this one's for you.
