New York has been freezing ever since I got back from London, and I'm right at the point where I've been wearing knits long enough to be craving some chic, new options. So what a little treat that Nordstrom is having a sale that's positively overflowing with excellent sweaters at this coziest and most expensive time of year.

I'd hate for you to miss out on the best of the sale, so I've curated the under-$180 sweater styles that I'm predicting will sell out first. It's all here, from cable-knits to chunky turtlenecks, Fair Isle to stripes, trending cardigans to on-sale cashmere. So make like David Rose on Schitt's Creek and begin assembling your cedar chest—you're going to need extra storage to accommodate all your expensive-looking new knits.

Luxe Turtlenecks

I blame The Row for our collective infatuation with these long lines and elegant loose fits. Even if it's not made of cashmere, this style is exactly what we mean when we talk about quiet luxury.

Preppy V-Necks

Prada convinced me I needed more V-necks, and I haven't looked back. This sweater style is particularly good in gray and red and arguably even better when you wear it like a scarf. (Also, please sign me up for that matching skirt.)

Bold Moments

In another season dominated by chill neutrals, I'm still here to give a moment to the trippy patterns, bold colors, and chunky stripes that mix things up—even just a little.

Chic Cardigans

No longer just nanacore, cardigans have transitioned to a fashion-crowd staple. Pick your fighters for the season ahead. Go ultra-polished and office ready, slouchy and cozy, or cropped and ribbed for a little '90s energy.

Stripes on Stripes

Designer brands like Khaite have cemented stripes in our year-round wardrobe—as evidenced here, here, and here—whether they're leaning nautical, Parisian, or Kurt Cobain grungy.

Let's take a moment for the key styles defining the season. Sweaters with matching scarves (that Toteme coat started it), Fair Isle knits (again, I blame Khaite), and shades of brown are the ones to note, but while you're here, don't skip out on half-zips and hints of metallic.

Chic Cable-Knits

Nothing says "holiday season" like a classic cable-knit sweater. These six on-trend styles are my picks for December, whether you're in the mood for a slouchy oversize fit, a collared cardigan, or a cool half-zip.

She loves collaborating and storytelling, so it's a really fun role for her. It's also the first full-time job she's ever had! She started out in her career as a very mediocre model who agreed to her first styling job to impress a photographer she had a crush on, which led her down a happy path of contributing to Vogue Australia and working as a stylist, fashion writer, and creative director for all sorts of brands and titles. She has a bachelor of communications, but most of her career opportunities came up thanks to some fleeting and accidental street style moments. She's been at Who What Wear for three and a half years and still loves to work as a freelance consultant with brands and designers to shoot their campaigns in NYC. She's originally from New Zealand, and Bondi Beach is her second home, but like just about every other 20-something, she fell in love with New York at some point. She lives in Williamsburg with her fiancé and their weird little dog, Ruby. If you ever need reccies for feel-good fashion, legit coffee spots, politics podcasts, or non-intimidating yoga studios, she's very much your girl.
